3rd POV
The group wandered through the small village. The guards that had followed Kearin had dispersed on their own way and left the boy to show the Ninja around. There were stalls littered around with countless people, each adopting animal like features weaving around eachother. As they walked, people waved and called out to Kearin with joy. Two little children, one with raven wings and another with snow leopard ears and tail, ran upto the group.
Kearin crouched down to the children. The kid with raven features, a young boy, handed Kearin an apple while the other, a young girl, gave him a white flower. She smiled and showed off sharp canines as a few other children ran over to them. Some analysed the ninja's outfits by circling them.
"What's this?" a little boy with dog ears and tail asked as he grabbed the longer part of the sash around Cole's waist.
"That's my sash." Cole replied as he placed his hands on his hips.
"Look What I've Got!" Another little boy, with goat like features, bleated as he held up Lloyd's sword.
"Hey!" Lloyd exclaimed with slight fear. "That's Dangerous! Give That Back!"
"Ha Ha!" Jay laughed, just as a little girl with sparrow wings tugged at his gi. Jay looked down at the girl. (But between you and me it's not that far for him to look down-) "What's up, kid?"
"Why's your face so splotchy?"
Jay was frozen on the spot as everyone turned and stared and the look on Jay's face inferred an internal buffering. (like this-( ╹▽╹ ).)
"Finch...!" Kearin gasped as he scurried over to the girl. "That's a bit rude to ask...!"
"S-sorry..." Finch chirped with sadness and guilt.
"Its alright, Kearin." Jay smiled as he crouched down and look directly at Finch. "You know when you have a colouring book? and You have a pencil that you want to use?" Finch nodded so Jay continued. "Well, I lost the pencil I use to colour my skin so I didn't get to finish. But you know what?"
"What?" Finch questioned.
"I like my skin just the way it is. It makes me unique."
"I think its really cool!"
"What are you?" A young kid with pink pig like features asked as they looked Zane up and down with confusion.
"I'm a Nindroid!" Zane smiled.
"A What?"
"A Nindroid?"
"What's That?"
"Its a Robot Ninja."
"Oh...! Why didn't you just say that in the first place. But what's a Ninja?"
"What's A robot?" Another child, with black and white panda features asked with a tilt of their head.
Zane just stood there, not quite sure how to explain in a way that would be simple for two 6-year-olds to understand. Meanwhile, Morro looked down at a boy with peacock feathers and blue hair.
"What?" He began, with a flat tone and his arms crossed over his chest.
"How'd you get that green streak in your hair?" the kid questioned. "Did it happen because of your Beast Form?"
"Wha-?! N-No...! I-I Dont Have A Beast Form."
"Then did you do it yourself?"
"I- No...! For the love of the First Spinjitzu Master...! Why do little Kids ask so many questions?!"
"Did your mama do it for you?" the kid continued, completely ignoring Morro's comment to the FSM.
"Look Kid." Morro bent down and placed a hand in his knee and pointed at the peacock hybrid. "I dont know, OK? So stop asking so many questions."
"Why?"
"Because."
"Because Why?"
"Just-! Just stop asking so many questions!" Morro gritted his teeth and curled his fingers in anger.
"Ha Ha!" The boy pointed his finger at Morro and jumped from foot-to-foot. "You Look Funny!"
"I-! Argh...!" Morro sighed and bent over in defeat.
"Are You Two Twins?" Two Siamese Cat Twins question simultaneously as they looked at Nya and Skylor.
"No, we're not." Skylor giggled.
"Do you hafth any Siblingths?" The first one asked with a lisp.
"Skylor doesn't but I do." Nya replied as she crouched down; Skylor following suit. "I have an older brother. His name is Kai."
"That sounds close to Prince Kearin's name!" The second one, with pigtails, giggled as she jumped up and down and pointed at the latter.
Nya and Skylor turned to see Kearin surrounded by a group of kids. He never mentioned his royal status. Nya noticed as he spoke, his tail swished from side to side. A school bell sounded through the village.
"Alright you lot!" Kearin beamed, showing off his glistening canines. "All of you head back to the school."
"Aw...!" All 15 children wined simultaneously.
"Come on. You can see my friends again at some point. Now hurry! Otherwise the Beast Stealer will come and take away your animal gifts!"
All the children screamed with giggles as Kearin jumped forward. The kids ran off back to the school house as Kearin placed his hands on his hips and turned back to the group. His smile immediately fell upon seeing Nya and Skylor's faces.
"What?" Kearin asked with confusion.
"Why didn't you tell us you were the Prince?" Nya replied with her arms crossed.
"Wait." Jay began. "You're a PRINCE?!"
"Why didnt you tell us?!" Cole exclaimed.
"Well I figured you'd be a bit overwhelmed having the Prince of Kean confront you in the Woods. I was going to tell you but now i have no need. Who told you anyways?"
"Two little Siamese Cat Twins." Skylor replied.
"Nahti and Llona... I should've guessed. They always say what they see; They see the royals? they'll adress them as the royals. They see me, they call me Prince Kearin."
"...Kearin!" Morro exclaimed, snapping the prince out of his ramble. "Its all good! They're what? 5? 6?"
"7-" Kearin mumbled, in which was barely heard through his mask; which was already muffling his speech. "Anyways! Why dont you follow me to the Palace?"
Before the group could respond, Kearin was already on his way to said location. The Ninja team followed a little bit behind, leaving enough space for them to talk without being heard.
"Dont you think he acts a bit like Kai?" Zane began.
"I have noticed that." Nya replied. "But he's more up himself and hotheaded. He wouldn't act like this. Not to mention hes not to fond of kids. Especially at that young of an age."
"A Bit Like Morro!" Jay teased, only for the latter to smack him on the back of the head. "Ow! Hey! What Was That For?!" Morro simply shrugged with a smug grin. Jay then turned away and mumbled under his breath; "Asshole."
"Maybe we should ask if Kai's actually come here." Cole began.
"But Kearin already said that no outsiders have set foot in Kean since the Viperion War...!" Lloyd reminded.
"I wish Kai was here..." Skylor mumbled. "He'd get along well with Kearin..."
"We'll find him, Skylor." Zane replied softly as he placed a hand on Skylor's shoulder
As the Ninja continued to chat, Kearin's lion ears swiveled to take in their conversation. As he did, his face fell. He wished he could tell them, but he didnt know how they'd react. Would they kick him from the team? Would they force him to stay in Kean? He was worried. But he needed to keep this charade going until the time was right.
How hard could that be?
