Chapter 8

Vi didnt know how long she just sat there, mindlessly watching a random show, keeping her mind from wandering. as the sun rises, birds started singing their morning songs, just loud enough over the tv, and soon enough she heard very light footsteps and shuffling leaving her room. a soft groan had her chuckling and turning to the sound. "good morning there enforcer." laughing at Caitlyn's response as she flops on the couch beside Vi. "ugh sorry.. i didn't mean to fall asleep.. you look far to awake for the morning, did you even sleep?" Vi just waved her hand. "it's not important.. what were you doing in my room anyways?" vi asked completely curious. 

"As far as i know, i didn't call you?" Caitlyn scanned vi's face. "you knocked something over, thought you were fighting or something.. you seemed to be having a panic attack but passed out before i reached you.. i was waiting for you to wake up... but i guess fell asleep?" Vi snorted softly. "you guess? and... thanks i guess... the new place kinda got to me but im good now.." Caitlyn saw past the fake confidence but didn't comment and just chuckled. "if you say so... you ready to start among Enforcers?" Vi playfully gulped faking a nervous expression, sending Caitlyn into a fit of laughter.

"go get changed dummy, we leave here shortly okay?" Vi fake saluted as she got up and headed into her room to grab her 'enforcers clothes and quickly changed. she froze at the mirror, trapped looking at her reflection. she ha aw it so many times in the bathroom of the prison, but she looked different. bruises still lined her jaw, and the scars on her eyebrow and lip stood out, yet she looked clean-shaven, fresh. no longer was her face sucken with hungry, she looked healthy, not quite completely healthy, but she didn't look thin. she tilted her head up, boring the clothes proudly and walked out, her confidence getting a true boost at her reflection. 

walking out of the bathroom, she kept up the bravado smirking as caitlyn scanned her appearance. "huh.. you clean up nice at least. you ready?' Vi nodded, reaching over to turn off the tv and turn off the lights as they move throughout the apartment. stepping out of said apartment Vi closed the door and followed caitlyn to the Elevator. groaning softly at the small, metal box she got in after keeping up her fae of confidence. "alright Vi, you will be put down as my partner okay? i will be teaching you the ropes, just stick with me and please dont start fights with anyone okay? no matter what they say." 

vi just nodded, trying to keep the panic down, she already panicked twice in front of caitlyn at the sight of the metal box, she will not make it a third time. when they reached the bottom they stepped out into the lobby, then into the bustling street, keeping together. Caitlyn led the way through the streets, taking so many turns that Vi had her head spinning. she doubt that she would be able to remember the entire way, there or back. the building loomed in front of them, had Vi freezing, these were the people who threw her into the prison in the first place, 

she hadn't thought of it before, but she would be working with the people who threw her in prison, and used their power to beat her and others in the prison. Caitlyn froze realizing that Vi is not following anymore. "vi? whats up?" "no-nothing! just uh... give me a second..." Vi flinched slightly at the crack in her voice, ducking her head to hide her experssion and try to control herself. Faint footsteps distracted her, and she lifted her head, seeing Caitlyn move closer. "hey.. your okay, you know that right? i got your back..?" Vi ducked her head again. gasping in surprise as Caitlyn brought her into a hug. "i can promise you that i got your back, you dont need to be scared or nervous or anything okay?" Vi nodded, gripping Caitlyn's shirt into a gentle fist grounding herself with caitlyns help. after a few minutes Vi gently pulled back "now are you ready?" Caitlyn said smiling gently. Vi met her gaze with a harden stare and nods. 

"I'm ready."
