-Gwen-

Last night was hectic to say the least. I barely slept. I couldn't stop thinking about what would happen. I know I said I didn't care what would happen to him, but seeing him... I don't know, it affected me more than I thought it would.

Fran came to bed with me last night. I could tell she wanted me to talk about it with her, but she settled on comfortable silence. Every once and a while she would look over at me and slightly smile.

This morning we were rearranging Fran's room to make my bed fit. Zaq and Zef had offered to help, but I still haven't seen Everhett or Deacon since last night. I could tell the mood had slightly changed, but at least Fran and the brothers weren't making me feel worse. It's not like I wanted to just throw in the towel and sacrifice myself right off the bat. I'm going to try first, but I have to prepare myself for the worst. Arowin was secured here, but that's not to say he couldn't just escape and follow me to the Mansion to try to stop me. Which I feared was a big possibility.

Until the update is announced by the council, I'm just going to train and spend as much time with everyone. With my new unit and my father.

I couldn't stop thinking about Rin though. I could still feel the link, but I didn't know if she was hurt. She could be blocking it from me. She hasn't severed the link yet. I read some books in Fran's room, apparently it's an intense process and we both would feel it immensely.

"Hey, pay attention, daydreamer!" Zaq said, stirring me from my thoughts.

"Sorry."

"Okay well everything is cleared here, so we can set the head board up and then bring the mattress in." Zaq more so said to himself. I could tell he liked helping, he seemed like a tinkerer.

"If you show me what to do, I can do it. I don't want to make you all do everything while I just stand here." I said, feeling like a nuisance.

"How many times do we have to tell you, Princess. We're more than happy to do anything for you." Zef chimed in as he revved the drill in his hand with a wink. "This will be done in a jiffy."

I didn't know when he started calling me princess, but surprisingly it hadn't bothered me like when Arowin would give me nicknames. I could sense the intent behind Zef saying it. It wasn't condescending, it was playful and a way to create closeness with me.

He wasn't lying when he said it would be done fast. Within minutes he had everything set up and they were both bringing the mattress in. Fran had brought in some lavender sheets and pillows. I smiled.

"Do you mind the color?" She asked.

"I love it. It reminds me of home." Home as in when my parents were alive. My mom always said lavender was my color. And of course my dad always liked it because it matched his skin tone.

"Pillow fight!" Zef screamed and sniped Zaq in the back of the head.

Zef threw the pillow at me just as Zaq turned aground.

"You." Zaq said with fake malice.

"It wasn't me I swear!" I shouted as he picked up another pillow.

"Charge!" He shouted as he started swinging at me.

"Take cover Fran!" Zef yelled while tackling Fran to the bed.

"Get off me, fatty." She said mischievously as she picked up a pillow and began smacking Zef in the face.

"Hey I was protecting you. You would betray me just like that?' He spoke while trying to dodge her swings.
