-Arowin-

I knew where she would be. She wouldn't leave without this woman.

As I threw myself against the door, the hinges buckled and the door splintered at the frame. The woman sitting on the bed remained calm. She watched me with soft eyes.

Walking to her I towered over her sitting body. She didn't move away. She didn't break eye contact. Points for bravery.

"Where is she?" My voice thundered in the room.

"She will return." She spoke confidently.

My brow raised in confusion, but my anger still dominated my thoughts.

"She'll come back for you." I stated.

She remained quiet.

"Who are you to her?" I demanded.

I already knew she was important because of the fury that crossed Gwen's face when I mentioned her. But Gwen stated she had lived alone all this time. So who was this?

She looked up with a fierce emotion. Staring deeply and intensely into my eyes.

"You must do what is right. You know Gwen's past. Though she doesn't know it was you, you must protect her heart. Help her find forgiveness. She can forgive you if you do the right thing."

I tensed at her mentioning the past. I'm certain she is referencing Deniah. Why speak so cryptically?

"Speak sense woman." I commanded.

"Gweneria is special. Deep down you know this. You also know you are connected to each other. She wants to deny this connection, but you must show her it is real. You must not fail at protecting her heart. If you fail, she will be lost forever. She will no longer be the Gweneria we know."

I tried to keep myself in check at this woman's words. How did she know all these things? What is she talking about? Gwen is mine. Her heart is mine. How could Gwen not be Gwen?

"Who are you?" I questioned her.

"I am Rin." She spoke briefly.

Sighing I clenched my jaw and knelt down, level with her cloudy gray eyes.

"Rin. You will help me get Gwen back. She is mine—"

"And you are hers." She cut me off.

No woman has ever held authority over me. If Gwen would submit, she could have me completely, I would give her anything.

"You are each other's." She spoke again. Waiting for me to speak, but I didn't.

"Divine love." She filled the silence. "You must not fail. She has to see its importance. The god's placed you together. So you must be together."

That explained the obsession I've felt since I first met her. Divine or not though, she would still be mine.

"We will be together." I spoke with determination and annoyance.

"No. You don't understand. She has made her decision. She will sacrifice her heart for her purpose." She spoke with stress wavering in her voice.

"Her purpose?" I narrowed my eyes.

Her gaze fell and she grasped her hands in her lap. She didn't answer.

"Answer me. Now woman." I yelled with agitation.

She remained still. Unresponsive.

"I will find out one way or another. Gwen needs to see you alive, but that doesn't mean you'll stay unharmed." I threatened.
