-Gwen-

I followed Arowin to a room I hadn't been to before. Inside, I was surprised to see more than just Zyconians. My brow raised at the sight of Roena.

Everyone silenced and turned their attention toward me.

"High Priestess Gweneria, allow me to introduce you to the court." Roena spoke in her usual politeness, but there was more confidence to my surprise. "Armond Caste." A Zyconian man stood and sent me a nod. "Victor Falie." A Marnyl man stood and smiled. "Anya Petrovic." A Deevith woman stood and placed her fisted arm across her chest. "Tarren Ny." A Daenon man remained seated, but sent a nod my way. "And Kenai Laurix." I watched her walk towards him lovingly and wrap her arm around his as he sent me a shy smile.

This was the lover she had mentioned. He was Zyconian, but his demeanor was similar to hers. His short curly black hair sat on his head in a neat manner. He looked down at her adoringly and held her hand tightly. I envied the looks they shared.

As for the others, I was impressed they were here. Sitting in the same room and not one look of disdain towards one another. Although Armond did seem rather stiff.

Armond had dark hair peppered with gray and appeared to be older than the rest. His light brown eyes stood out from his dark red skin. He was noticeably larger than Victor, who seemed to be my age, and quite gangly in stature. His pure white hair was eye-catching along with his matching white eyes.

Anya reminded me of my aunt in a way. Tall athletic build. Her eyes constantly monitored between everyone and the exit which made me chuckle internally. Her sleek blonde hair was pulled back in a tight ponytail that complimented her angular face. A single, foggy white crystal sat in the center of her forehead.

Tarren was reserved. His black wings pulled behind him tightly. I could tell unwrapped, they would be a sight to see. His long black hair fell well past his hips, but half of it was pulled up away from his face. To compliment his deep blue skin, blue eyes stared back at me as he watched me analyze each and every one of them.

"How are you... together?" I asked Roena as I remembered her father's sick intentions to blackmail her into marrying Arowin.

"Arowin took care of everything, just like you said." She smiled and walked to where Arowin and I stood. "Thank you for everything. If it weren't for the both of you, I would have lost the most important person to me." She glanced behind her at a blushing Kenai.

"How?" I turned to Arowin in confusion.

"I gave her father a choice. Step down and have Roena take his place, or die." He said simply and coldly.

That simple huh?

"I assume he didn't agree?" I responded.

"He chose to die with his pride." Arowin answered bluntly.

I felt worry as I slowly turned to Roena, expecting to see a saddened expression on her face. Instead, she stood with her arms wrapped around Kenai's middle, a small laugh left her lips as he bent down and kissed her nose.

She was happy.

"Her father was dead to her long ago. She mourned his absent love well before I rid him of her." Arowin spoke in my ear just for me to hear.

I nodded in understanding and moved to take a seat at the table. Arowin followed and sat next to me.

"I'm pleased to see you all here." I started. "I have many questions, but I'll try not to bore you with all of them. Just start by telling me how this came to be." I turned to Victor who sat to the left, closest to me.
