-Gwen-I hadn't spoken a word to Arowin since he dragged me back. I laid in silence trying to decipher what was wrong with him.
He seemed stuck in his head since we got back from the atrium. Good. I hope I got to him. I hope what I said bothered him. He should be bothered by his fucked up behavior. It's psychotic.
With most of the lights off and only the setting sun to illuminate the room, a magenta haze surrounded him as he sat in the corner. He sat stiffly with tense shoulders as he held his arms out on the arms of the chair, gripping them harshly. He stared at the floor with a dark look in his eyes.
As I watched him from afar, I couldn't help but analyze every part of him. His eyes, though misty and frightening most times, held something heavy and deep. His irises flickered from amber to gold as if he were losing control. I slowly sat up in anxiousness as I debated on drawing attention to myself. If he was fighting something internally I didn't want to be used as his outlet.
Mustering up the courage I treaded lightly and kept my distance.
"Arowin?" I spoke with a steady voice.
His gaze on the floor never faltered as if he hadn't heard me. His grip on the chair tightened as his body began to tremble. His eyes flared with more ferocity if that were even possible.
I stood up with urgency and cautiously made my way to the door. I took my eyes off of him for two seconds to grab the handle. As I turned to look back, his wild glowing eyes connected with mine. He made no attempt to get up, and I made no attempt to move. His eyes held me in a vice-like grip. I wasn't sure if he was using some sort of gift on me or if it was simply my own fear.
An urgent knock sounded just outside the door. Neither of us moved or dropped eye contact. I wasn't sure if it was fear or concern holding me in place. It felt like his eyes held some sort of message. I couldn't decipher it as the knocking persisted.
The door slammed open abruptly as I tore my gaze from Arowin.
Ameela?
She stood with feigned calmness, but I could tell she was distressed.
"You are to wait outside until called." She ordered me.
I stared perplexed as my gaze shifted to Arowin's intense and harsh eyes, which were now directed at Ameela. A guard gripped my forearm and pulled me from the room as the door immediately slammed shut behind me.
Something was obviously happening to him, but why? Was she trying to help? I hated not knowing.
I stared at the door in anticipation, listening for any commotion. It was silent, which made me even more uneasy. Twenty minutes had surely passed as the door suddenly opened and Ameela walked out.
She looked agitated, but her rigid demeanor had lessened and her aura seemed more relaxed. My suspicions grew even further as she completely ignored me and left me standing in the hallway without explanation. I hesitantly walked into the room in search of Arowin.
"Arowin?" I called with uncertainty.
His large form stood in the bathroom doorway. His arm draped over the side of the door frame as he leant against it casually. His eyes were no longer glowing. They were dark amber. I didn't recognize these eyes.
"Are you... feeling better?" I asked apprehensively.
I don't know why I was asking. I shouldn't care, but something felt amiss.
