"Y/n why do you look so down? Did something happen at school today?" My mother, again greeting me at the door when I came back home.

"No, nothing happened." I wanted to tell her, though the words coming out of my mouth were different than what I thought.

"Well your theater teacher called me today." Of course she did... "She said you haven't been showing up to class for the past four days? Y/n that's not like you."

"I'll go back tomorrow."

"Y/n I want an explanation."

"I'll go back there tomorrow mom, I don't think we need to talk more about it." I sat down at the table, taking out my papers for various homework assignments.

"Since you don't want to talk about it, you miss one more class in any subject—you're grounded." I sighed, nodding at her before turning my attention to my homework.

"How about inviting Aether over tonight? Your father and I are going out with a few friends for drinks, so I'll allow it this once." Y/n a week ago would've loved that, she would be going crazy.

Funny thing, I've snuck Aether in my house countless of times! Only one time he got caught because he fell in my room coming through my window. Crazy guy..but I loved every moment with him.

Sometimes when we were at his house we would climb onto the roof and lay there, stargazing (though we never took it seriously) till Lumine would tell us to come down.

"Y/n? Are you listening?" My mom rested her hand on my shoulder, grabbing my attention back from my thoughts.

"I actually have a ton of homework tonight, and Aether's sick so—but thanks mom."

"Hm, maybe we can stop over there one day, poor guy. I can make him soup or something?"

"No it's fine mom. Y'know can't risk either of us getting sick!" She sighed, going back to the kitchen unloading the dishwasher.

"I suppose you're right. Well, tell him I sent my regards."

"Will do."

I put my earbuds in, listening to a different assortment of artists while I worked on my homework. Which went on for about an hour and a half.

The rest of the night was boring, lonely. I could've asked Wanderer if he wanted to come over, but after only knowing him for not even a week? I think he would've said no.
We didn't even message each other today, which I didn't care much about.

Though luckily, it's finally Friday. A weekend to finally cool down and get Aether off of my mind. Then Monday I'll be a whole new person when I walk into the theater, and not be phased at all when we do our scene.
