                                                                Maxine

It's getting dark and there's a beautiful sunset shinning through the trees. I wonder if Collin is seeing the same thing...

I'm walking behind the girl Tiffany over to this huge house. It's 10x bigger than any of the other little houses. It had a jewel on top of it just like mine does.

I notice while walking across the bridges the lights shinning from inside the tear drop houses. It reminds me of the city but this one has more of a homie feeling to it. It feels oddly comforting.

Before I know it, Tiffany's come to a halt and I almost walk into her. She steps aside and I notice two older men standing by the curtain door entrance. They look at me astonished, as if I was some sort of rare flower.

"M-my Lady! You've come back!" Shouts one of them. The other one pulls aside the curtain and gestures for me to step inside saying "Welcome home your majesty." What the heck did he mean by 'Majesty'? I'm genuinely confused.

I step inside the room and am once again, amazed. Fireflies are in big orbs dangling from the ceiling. Flowers bloom from the walls. It's gorgeous. Finally my sight land and two thrones. One was occupied and the other wasn't. The empty one has words carved into the wood saying 'For my lost butterfly. My dearest Maxine'. Why in the world is my name up there?

Suddenly I hear a gasp escape someones mouth and I realize it came from the woman siting in the other throne. Now that I've gotten a better look at her I realize how beautiful she is. She has dark brown hair but the same vibrant green eyes as mine. Wait- she has freckles too! She's stunning! She has a monarch butterfly patterned dress on that looks like silk. She also looks young. Maybe like mid 30s.

"Maxine I- is that really you?" She stutters. Tiffany comes up behind me, bows and says "My Queen. She prefers to be called Max now."

"Oh- I'm sorry sweetheart, my bad."

Wait did she just call me sweetheart? The hell? I just met this woman and she is calling me 'sweetheart'?  Tiffanys voice startles me as she asks "Now do you believe me?" with a smirk on her face. The woman gets up with a saddened expression on her face.

"Tiffany, she has a right not to believe you after all these years." The Queen states waving her away. This is happening way too fast. I can't keep up with  what is happening. I feel as if my vocal cords have been stolen and I can't speak.

"I'm sorry for not being in your life more Max. That night in your fathers apartment was only an accident... I should have went after you. Because of my mistakes I lost you to those packs of...whatever they are. I'm sorry you never got to live up to your full potential. However you're home now. You can rule. You can have power. Let us not forget how it's your birthday as well." she said speaking super fast to the point were I barley can keep up.

"I'm sorry...what do you mean?" is all I can ask.

"Oh- Oh dear...theres some lost communication isn't there. I'm your mother. Max- I don't know any other way to put it. You're a Hybrid."

"I'm a what?! I can't be! It's only a legend! Plus my parents died in a fire! I'm a werewolf not a fairy! I've changed before! I'm not even close to a fairy!"

"Ah...your fairy side has been lost in disbelief I see. Then prove it to me and yourself. Tuck your hair behind your ear. If it's pointy then I'm right. If it's not then your right. Sound good?" she asks. I'm done. I know I'm werwolf. Some people just have pointy ears is all. I did what she asks and tuck it behind my ear. I feel a point and shock myself.

"Looks like I was right. If that isn't enough proof for you then we both have the same eye colour and freckles. Your black hair came from your father." she sounds amused as she says this. This doesn't make sense.

"It doesn't make sense though..." I whisper.

"Oh but it does. Ever wonder why you can never control that beast inside you? Wonder why when you lie you feel a sharp pain like you being tased? Thats your fairy side struggling to stay with you. Thankfully we got you on your birthday before it was completely lost. We tried to get your brother Collin on his birthday but that didn't end up happening in time so his side is completely lost. No point in collecting him now."

HOLD UP- DID SHE SAY BROTHER?! She's got to be lying! Collin is werwolf through and through! I hate the fact that all her points were valid ones though.

She starts laughing  "Oh dear... you love him don't you! This is hilarious! He probably has that protective brother trait in him still!" She continues to laugh slapping her knee gasping for air.

She also didn't flinch when she said it meaning she hasn't lied about any of this. She's telling me the flat out truth....This is a lot to take in. Rewind... she's my mother and the Queen... making me her heir. Collin is my fucking brother and I'm a hybrid and so is he... except he lost the fairy part in him. One thing doesn't add up though. If I was brought when I was 5 and he was already there then how did he get there in the first place.

"Wait so then how did he get into the pack before me with the whole fire and stuff?" I ask raising my eyebrow.

Her expression changes into sadness as she cuts off her laugh. "Your father...he thought he wasn't suitable enough to rule...that he was too weak so he dropped him off as a newborn at the steps of his old pack and I never saw him again. Two years later we had you but after a while your father got fed up with you and fought with me to do the same thing." She says.

Again I didn't see her flinch meaning she wasn't lying...not good news.

"My name is Etta by the way, but you can call me mother." she says this quickly cheering up as I feel a sharp stab into my neck and suddenly the room starts to go fuzzy. I feel me crash down to the floor. I look up and can see her looming over me and the last thing I heard her say was "That should get rid of your werwolf side so you can become my perfect little obedient fairy... Everyone is going to love you..."
