Walking back into my den is odd after not being here for so long. So Much has changed. We've all changed so much in the last week. Collins the new pack leader, him and I have both harnessed the werewolf and fairy in us, Dolores has become a full time doctor, Rex has taken a full roll of being Collins mini helper and as Collins sister I've taken up the role of his co-worker. I sit down on my bed looking around. I've already cleaned up the shattered glass from the broken mirror.
The news of Axels death has made the werwolf community go quiet. Scott is hosting his funeral today with the help of Collin, Dolores and me. It's set the mood where no one wants to talk. I've created my speech and so has Collin, Dolores, Scott.
I hear a random knock on the door and check the time. Oh Fuck! It's already 1:20pm!
"Come in!" I shout to the door. Collin walks through and closes the door quietly.
"Can I?" He asks gesturing towards my bed. I nod. He's wearing a black tux, black dress pants, a dark navy blue blouse underneath, black polished dress shoes and his hair isn't in a tangled mess. He walks over quickly and sits down beside me.
"The Funerals going to start soon...are you ready?" he asks. I nod again. My outfit isn't as fancy like his at all. It's just a Black dress with ruffles on the bottom and shoulder straps. I slip into my black heels as well. I grabbed the necklace Dolores gave for me to borrow. Its a simple platinum chain with a gorgeous dark blue jewel at the end of it. The Rule for the funeral is that everyone has to wear black and a piece of dark blue to represent Axels eyes and favourite colour. For the boys its in their clothing and for girls it's a piece of jewelry.
"Can you help me with this?" I ask as he nods. I hand him the necklace and he wraps it around my neck. I move my hair out of the way as he locks it together.
"Thanks." I say quietly.
"Your welcome. Are you sure you want to do a speech? You don't have too." He asks giving me a sad sympathetic look.
"Yeah... you and the others are, so it's only right for me to do it too. I just..I really miss him Collin."
"I do too but we have to stay strong. For the pack and for Axel. We both know he wouldn't want us moping around. He would want us to stay strong and to make him proud which is what we're going to do. Okay?"
"Yeah." I say straightening up. I stand up and he does the same. He reaches for my hand and I grip it tight. Taking a deep breath we both walk out of my den on our way outside.
We walk out to the front yard as people are wondering around speaking in low voices and everything is set up. Axels grave is going to be up at the tip of the hill. He'll be facing the city lights and not the darkness. Theres a dark blue canapé draped over the dirt hole with his coffin inside. Scott pulls us over to the side abruptly.
"You guys ready?" He asks as his eyes dart around frantically. He's obviously stressed about something.
"Scott what's wrong?" Collin asks, lightly pulling me a little bit behind him.
"Dolores isn't here yet!" He exclaims breaking the quiet atmosphere. Everyones heads turn to us. I wave an apologetic hand as they turn back to their own thoughts. Scotts eyes trace back from looking at them, over to us again.
"Scott I'm sure she's just finishing something up in her office. I'll go get her." I say sternly so he'll stop panicking.
"Wait before you go there's something I need to give to you!" He exclaims reaching out and grabbing my wrist as I'm turning around. I whip around shocked by his strong grasp. Collin rips my hand out of his grasp quickly giving Scott an unfriendly glare. Collins never liked Scott but he's been good at leaving it alone until now. He's especially defensive after it told him about what happened with Leo. I want to socialize but it seems as though he won't leave me alone unless I'm in my den. I guess it's what I deserve after the whole scenario. He's defiantly taken the role over an overprotective brother. Maybe just a little too over protective.
