♡ ╰◟◞ ͜ ◟◞╯ . ☆This episode was more than just a wholesome filler... It's a really great episode in giving a valuable lesson... It's about the pain of farewells and how it's okay to feel sad when we part ways. After all, a proper goodbye needs to be honest and come from the heart. This has always been a theme for all media and not just on Prettycure. I really feel the episode's minor conflict, as that may be giving me the feels... Especially for the Sora X Mashiro angst fluff moment that references Futari Wa Prettycure... With that in mind, we shall focus on our main duo, Sora and Mashiro. The duo that started the heroic story of Hirogaru Sky Prettycure. First of all, Mashiro starts showing her personality towards farewells, especially with what we know about her past all the way back to Episode 4. The story of how Mashiro tries to not cry when she and Ageha parted ways back then. That part of her past shows how kindness is more than just tough... It's heartbreaking, especially when farewells happen... I'm sure Mashiro's parting with Ageha might possibly left a scar on her, so she was trying to hide the fact that she's sad about Sora parting ways from her. And in Sora's case, she showed herself to be dishonest about her feelings, and it hurts... I mean, Mashiro is literally Sora's first ever friend... Then, we have it being proved and challenged by meeting with a minor character that delivered a good job in portraying the pain of farewells.
This episode was a little filler and slice of life, because it's about Elle getting her first shoes. It was funny and all that, but it hit to the core when they met with the old lady at the store. The old lady gave her the shoes that she was planning to buy for her granddaughter, but she gave it to them... Not just because she saw Elle loving them, but also because of thinking that she might ruin the happy mood of her granddaughter's family as they bid farewell. Of course, Sora and Mashiro didn't agree to that sentiment, but this issue is happening to both of them. Thus, this leads to them deciding to help the old lady in giving the shoes and bid a proper farewell to the family. When they saw the old lady finally bidding a proper farewell to the family at the airport, we finally got the most quiet but heartfelt scene.
Before that happened, Sora and Mashiro talked to each other about their feelings about meeting each other and how Sorashido City is Sora's second home. At that time, they weren't able to say what they wanted to say, as it might kill the happy mood when looking at the city lights during night time... However, this was denied to be true when they saw a proper farewell being played in front of their eyes... When the lady bid farewell to the family with sadness that's finally unveiled, we see Mashiro reminiscing her memories with Sora and everyone else. Sora possibly thought of the same thing too, so they both cried. This farewell is quiet and they haven't talked to each other at that moment... However, they're able to convey to each other their sadness in needing to say goodbye and part ways. Which is why despite being silent towards each other, they both instinctively hold hands. Back then, they weren't able to do so when they looked at the city lights, but now they did at this scene. It was a nice Futari Wa Prettycure reference, and I also love how kindness is portrayed here. Thus, even though I can't gush on how much Sora slays here for now, I still think Sora is a great character and partner to Mashiro. After all, they're both a Prettycure Duo that will recall what the past Prettycure was like.
Now, let's ramble about Ageha and Tsubasa. Ageha did a great job in being at the sidelines trying to help Sora and Mashiro, as I said before that Mashiro's experience of parting ways might possibly scar her in the past. Ageha really wanted Sora and Mashiro to be honest with each other and open up their true feelings towards each other. Once again, Ageha gives the vibe of a person that sets two lovebirds into confessing that they're into each other. Is it canon that Ageha supports Sora X Mashiro now? That is something that will never be answered in the show. Meanwhile, Tsubasa is showing to be a dorky cinnamon roll towards Elle, and is currently on the sidelines with his screen time. I think it's nice, considering how we need to focus on our main duo more before the arrival of Cure Butterfly soon. Anyhow, I still feel bad for the birb, but at least he's there to be the best birb knight to ever exist.
Not only that, the moral lesson of this episode is something that needed to be addressed. The lesson on how farewells are painful, but one must be honest as after the rain comes a rainbow. That lesson really works in this episode, as it gives me the feels for seeing our main duo part ways this early and that it makes me want to cherish the important memories I made with my friends. Now, for the other characters like Yoyo and Elle, they both did their part decently well. While Elle has been shafted into the background as the usual baby she is, it's still nice to see Yoyo being considerate for the group. I really love that Yoyo wants to give the group a proper farewell before bringing Elle back to her parents. It shows that she really cares for them, and it feels like they're a family. Loving the dynamic that they have with each other so far.
Also, no villains for this episode. Kabaton already retired from being a villain, so we have Cure Sky and Prism use their abilities to help the old lady in getting her to the airport. I have to say though, I love when heroes use their powers to help the civilians in their hero forms. It gives the impression that heroes aren't just about fighting villains, they're also showing that they can help them in things that don't involve their villains. While I find it funny and feel kinda bad for the lady in dealing with heights, I still love the way they showed that heroes can use their powers like that. Now, we'll hope that the new villain coming up is going to be a great one... As per usual, the animation here is decent, and also great. The pacing of this episode is pretty great and played to my emotions in showing the Sora X Mashiro scenes! It's really great! I sure hope they keep up with the good pacing, as the next episode will be something... As this episode was more than just a filler, because it's actually a buildup as to what'll happen in the next episode... Yes! We get a chance to see Skyland, meet the hero that Sora admires, and introduce our new villain... At Skyland! Oh boy, this'll be hype! We're possibly rising the stakes of the show this early! I can't wait to see more great episodes to come in Hirogaru Sky Prettycure. This series is doing well in showing the characters' connections so far, especially with Sora and Mashiro. Thus, I'll hope that this storytelling and pace will maintain towards the next episodes onward.
