Y/N's POV
I had brought a couple of the blood samples from the bunker to work and was running some tests to see what they might be. When I looked at a small sample on the slide, I noticed there were unique markers that were not in normal blood. There were the usual white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets, but there was an odd collection of another type of cell that I couldn't place. I looked at the old book that I had found in the bunker, but it too seemed to not be able to tell me how it was possible for this new cell to be there. It became even more of a concern as the unknown cells, that when damaged, would regenerate to reform the new blood cells.
As I had taken this blood sample from a bottle that had the label 'vampire' written upon it I assumed this new cell was part of the vampire blood and that gave them their abilities to do what they did. I thought back to a book I had read about vampires and remembered that some dead man's blood would put them to sleep for a time and I wondered how the blood would react to it. I went over to my backpack and searched inside for the vial of blood I had taken from a stash that Dean had. Stepping back over to the microscope I used a pipette to gather some of the dead man's blood and watching through the microscope I dropped the smallest amount onto the vampire blood and watched as the vampire cells were taken over by the dead man's blood cells.
I couldn't believe it when the dead man blood cells enclosed over the vampire cells and watched as some of the vampire cells seemed to fight the grip of the other cells, finally ripping through the dead man's blood and regenerating itself to become healthy once again. So that's how they do it. If a vampire is injured the cells can kill whatever ails it and regenerate to keep the host healthy. Noticing the one or two of the dead man's blood cells caused the vampire cells to disintegrate completely I realised not all the vampire cells survived, but with enough vampire cells the creature could stay as a vampire. Maybe given enough dead man's blood the vampire could be cured? Or maybe kill the creature?
"Hey Y/N, not heading home?" I heard the voice and looked up to see Abigail standing there. Her dark brown hair was tied up into a bun and the glasses she wore had slid down her nose, she was always pushing them up. The brown eyes looked tired, and her shoulders seemed to be slumped as though she had the weight of the world on them.
"Hi Abigail" I looked at the samples in front of me and then back at her "No. I'm waiting for someone. He shouldn't be too much longer"
"Would you like me to wait with you?" she asked and just then Castiel appeared behind her, the sound of wings filled the quiet corridor.
I smiled, "No need, here he is"
Abigail turned to see Castiel, who smiled at her and said "Hello"
She looked back at me, her face in complete shock as she gave him a quiet "Hi" back. Stepping into the room Castiel wrapped his arms around me and kissed me quickly "Hello Y/N"
I squeezed him tight and replied "Hello Castiel" then glancing over I saw that Abigail hadn't moved, so I said, "Abigail, this is Castiel, Castiel, Abigail"
"Hello Abigail" Castiel said as he released me.
Abigail hadn't said anything as she just stood there staring at the angel, but then she suddenly smiled and said, "Nice to meet you Castiel" then she met my eyes and said, "I'll see you tomorrow Y/N"
"Sure. See you Abigail" I watched the woman frown, then shaking her head she left.
"Are you ready to go?" Castiel questioned once Abigail was gone, his blue eyes met mine and I glanced over at the blood sample and said, "Do you know that it's possible to cure a vampire?"
