Castiel's POV
I watched as she slid off the stool and grabbed the bag of food before walking over to the front door, snatching up her keys she turned to me and said, "Are you coming?"
I stared at her for a moment "No!" I stated and heard the anger in my voice. I couldn't just happily follow her to do something that I knew could result in her dying. I also knew that I couldn't stop her.
"Fine" I heard her snap as she walked out slamming the door hurting me more than her words.
I stood looking at the door, maybe I was waiting for her to come back and tell me that she wasn't going to go, but as I stood there and the minutes ticked over, I realised that she wasn't coming back, no matter how long I waited for her to return.
Deciding that I needed to talk to Jack I flew up to Heaven and walked down the white stark hallways, it wasn't as pretty as the small Forrest and river where I had been to see Bobby on occasions, but I knew that Jack would be doing some work in the old building today. When Jack remodeled Heaven he decided to leave some of the old building and turn it into small offices so meetings and other work could be done in private. Walking to the door I knocked and heard Jack call for me to enter.
Stepping in I saw the young Nephilim sitting behind the glass desk, a beer bottle sat in front of him and a second sat on the opposite side of the table, close to where I came in. The office wasn't overly big, but big enough to hold a medium size desk, two armchairs and a plant in the corner. I stepped up to one of the arm chairs as Jack said, "Sit down Castiel. Have a drink with me. Like old times" he gave me that big smile as though everything was fine.
"I cannot" I told him. I was here for important matters, not to catch up with the young Nephilim.
"Castiel?" he looked at me, the smile dropping away quickly and was replaced with confusion.
I sat down on the chair, but I didn't pick up the beer "I need to talk to you about Y/N"
"You have already been told that you need to support her"
"I cannot" I stated and when he frowned at me I added, "Her life has been threatened if she continues with the testing"
Nodding slightly Jack simply said, "I was afraid of that"
I glared at him, "You knew? You knew, but you still allowed her to do this?"
"Yes" he stated coldly.
"You sent me there to guide her to her death?"
Jack shook his head. "No!"
"Why did you send me there then?"
Jack smiled as said, "I was told she was special"
"Yes, she is" I stated matter-of-factly.
The smile on his face widened. "I was hoping you would see it too. That you would be happy with her"
"Jack, you can't gift a person. It's not like that"
The confusion was clear as he said, "She has told you that she loves you. Do you not love her too?"
I wanted to say something, anything, but I couldn't think of what to say.
"Heaven is behind you two Castiel" getting to his feet Jack came around and stood in front of me. "Please Castiel. Go to her. Tell her you will support her and-"
"I am not-"
Jack's blue eyes met mine as he said, "Protect her Castiel. Love her and protect her, that's all Heaven is asking of you"
