Sam's POV
I had been surprised when I entered the main room of the bunker to find Castiel pacing up and down, the look of pure dread on his face. I had stopped suddenly knowing that something was definitely wrong, but my concern was more for the fact that Castiel seemed to be keeping secrets from us and it wasn't like him. When he told me that Y/N was missing, and he didn't want to tell Dean about it I was hit once again with the understanding that Castiel was still dealing with the jealousy about Dean and Y/N. When Dean entered before I could say anything I saw the concern on my brothers face instantly, but then he got angry at Castiel for not telling us that Y/N was missing when he was here earlier. I told him that she would fine hoping that I could calm the tension between them, but when Castiel had said that she was taken from her bed neither one of us could understand how that was possible. Dean once again had to defend himself, telling Castiel it wasn't him that called and I thought an argument was going in ensue until Castiel suddenly said, "An angel took her"
We both had stared at him, confused. It was possible that an angel could take her from her bed, but what would they want with her? As though Dean was following my exact thoughts he snapped at Castiel, "An Angel? Why would an angel take her?"
Castiel frowned slightly then said, "Y/N is calling to me" before he disappeared without another word.
Dean and I looked at each other and I saw the frustration on Dean's face as he snapped, "Fricken Angel" before turning and disappearing into the kitchen.
I took a deep breath and followed him, entering the kitchen just as he had taken a beer out of the fridge and opened it quickly taking a drink.
"We can't be angry at him" I said and regretted my sentence as soon as the angry green eyes flicked up meeting mine
Swallowing the mouthful he'd just taken Dean's eyes didn't move from mine as he said, "He told us he was going to protect her. He was never going to leave her side"
I gave him a dubious look, "Oh come on Dean. He can't be with her all the time"
"He's a fricken angel, what else does he have to do?"
I sighed, exasperated with my brother as he seemed to be blaming Castiel for Y/N's disappearance, when neither Castiel nor Dean were to blame at all.
"He better find her" Dean snapped as he walked over to the door, "She better be ok" he mumbled as he disappeared.
I shook my head wondering if Dean could see how close he had gotten to Y/N. Dean probably hadn't realised but she had become part of our little family. I knew my brother didn't want to go through the pain of losing anyone again, and that was why he had built a wall around himself. Y/N had managed to get through though and he cared for her, wanted to protect her. Castiel didn't have to be jealous though. Both Dean and I saw her as the sister we'd never had. I was just hoping that Dean didn't make a mistake and enrage Castiel.
I saw my computer sitting on the table and remembered that I was doing some research on the ring that I had seen on Y/N's finger. The other day when Castiel and Dean had been trapped in the nightmares Y/N had told me that she could create dreams and bring people into them. I had heard it was possible to do with magical potions and powers, but I knew she didn't have them. Then I saw the ring on her finger and had asked about it. She had told me that Castiel had given it to her to stop her nightmares and I wondered if it was helping her in other ways.
Sitting at the computer once again I searched for dream rings and it wasn't long before I came across the one that Y/N had on her finger. It was indeed helping her, but what worried me more was that it was also doing more than that. I knew then that I had to get her to take it off.
