The ride up to your grandfather's took awhile, you glanced over to your side to see Ben had long since fallen asleep in the passenger seat. You smiled to yourself. 'hes kinda cute when he sleeps' you thought, before mentally kicking yourself for such thoughts. You knew you two were growing closer. Hell, you nearly kissed him. It's not like he really is the boy you went to school with. He's totally different.

" The only thing you two have in common is memories" you vocalized, rationalizing thoughts that continued to bounce around your head. You quickly pulled your brain out of its fog as you turned onto the dirt road of your grandfathers home, slowing down to prevent gravel getting kicked up into your car, hoping your car comes out with less scratches then normal, but you didn't care about that at the moment.

' didn't want you to haunt me baby, I dont want you, anymore, I don't need you, anymore'

Your eyes flicked down to the radio, the woman's soft voice coming through quietly, the lyrics felt right. You never did want Ben to haunt you, but he had as soon as he came into your life and left, just to appear again? The idea of it made you dizzy.

You sighed, pulling your car up into the drive way, why couldn't he have had a normal life? You sat back, closing your eyes imagining what the real Ben would've said to you, would he send a message on social media? A ' hey I found you!  Missed you!'? Or would you two have bumped into each other in public, and then went on to have brunch? Maybe even back to your place?

Your eyes were suddenly drawn by the male next to you, he was curled up against the console, his head resting on his arm as he snored softly, and sweetly. You brushed his hair gently, feeling the soft strands between your fingers for a moment as you stared at him. " Hey Ben, if you're awake enough, I'll be right back" you said, hoping for a response, but he stayed silent, clearly already in deep sleep. Laughing lightly you began to get out, before pausing

' kiss him'

Your face became red at the thought. " I can't" you muttered, your eyes lingering on him. Before taking in a deep breath, your heart was pounding as you leaned down slowly, brushing his hair away from his cheek. You felt yourself shake as you lowered down, almost second guessed yourself, before placing a quick peck on his cheek before quickly getting out and rushing up the wooden steps, you made sure to keep the other doors locked while yours stayed unlocked, keeping your car on so that Ben could warm up on the heater, and for quick get away, you approached the wooden door.

You started to knock, only for the door to creek open slowly. You frowned, trying the light and cussed once you found the lights were cut. " Grandpa? You there?" You shouted, afraid of the idea of a possible break in before flicking on your phones light, scanning the area. To your surprise, everything looked fine, nothing out of order, no signs of a struggle-

That's when your eyes flicked to the kitchen, on the floor laid a pool of blood. you gasped upon seeing it, taking it up on yourself to rush in, you nearly puked up your guts at the sight of all the blood covering the kitchen, along with a window that had been broken in from the outside.

Your eyes trailed the whole kitchen, looking for any sign of life, but you were only met with red on top of red. Suddenly the smell of something burning picked on your nose. You noticed the stove on and quickly turned it off, taking the burning food off and placing it in the sink. " Mourn later. Find the guns" you reminded yourself through deep breaths. You can't freak out now. Not now. You've gotten this far. You have to keep going.

You shook your head and collected your dizzy head, creeping past the blood and mess for the keys that laid in the same spot he always kept them.

" Inside the dryer" he said.
