( Author here, I didn't expect there to be traction to this story, but I'm here to finish what I've started! If there's any misspells please let me know! I've switched from a computer to phone because my keyboard had broke on me so yay for my luck right? On with the anticipated chapter! Also I'll be trying to switch all of readers pronouns to they/them, but a few she/her pronouns might slip. I've realized that there's too many mainly female driven stories and not enough for our gender fluid friends. So all pronouns in earlier chapters will eventually be switched!) I hope everyone enjoyed the small fluff break, but we're back on with the rest of the story!

~BEN's POV~

I released Y/n's hands and let out a sigh. " Hey, how bout you go rest for awhile and I'll tell you in my own way later? It's complicated" I lied, and stood up and away from the couch. " But you said-"

" I know what I said, just.. give me a minute" I cut them off and made my way into the guest bedroom before they could say anything else.

There, all my research I convinced Alex to write was here. I let out a deep sigh and began to rummage through, being sure to listen for them to come in and bother me before I was ready. That was a bad habit of theirs, I hummed softly to myself flicking through files til I found the one I was looking for.

I pulled out a scuffed up, black leather journal, inside was all types of symbols, Latin passages, and most importantly, spells written in my blood. I never agreed to it, but it was important to me now.

I straightened my back, continuing to flip through the pages, taking in all the unknown til I reached the page I was looking for, just the imagine caused my breath to get stuck in my throat. Hollow black eyes staring blankly back, horrible black tar liquid that dropped down from the sockets. It was a mask of course, but it still unnerved me, if anything scared me it would have to be this.

I tucked the book in my arm and wondered off to the living room for the human, who wasn't there. I checked the kitchen to again, be met with no body. Their room maybe? I walked upstairs and knocked. Nothing. With caution I opened the door and peaked in, it was as expected- empty. Where had they gone in such a short time? I walked in and closed the door behind me, i approached the window and sighed. " There you are" I muttered, looking down at your small figure. You stood outside talking to Sasha in her car, I hadn't heard her call or pull up, so it must've happened right after I left. I continued to watch when suddenly, she noticed me, standing there staring. I slunk away from the window when I realized I wasn't in my disguise. " Fuck" I cursed and ran my hands down my tar and blood soaked cheeks, my body copied and crumpled it's self to the floor. I fucked up.

~Y/N POV~

Sasha had just called me and let me know that she had pulled up outside to drop off some clothes I had left at her place. I groaned.

" Why do you never warn me you're stopping by?" I asked, crossing my arms in front of her driver door, and sending a playful glare.

" And where's the fun in that? You know I like surprising you, it keeps you going better anyway" she chirped and began to turn off the car and pop the trunk.   She began to go on about her day, and that boy at work she's been crushing on.
" Oh and like, today he brought me coffee to my desk, you think he likes me ba- hey isn't that Ben up there? What's goin on with his face?" She suddenly asked, I turned following her gaze and gasped a little. He was him. Blood, tar and ruby eyes I've come to love, but no one else was supposed to see.  She began to say something when he stepped away from the window quickly, and I cut her off just as fast. " Oh just some Halloween makeup" I lied, and gave her a tight lipped smile.
