~Author note: thank you for reading so far, reader. I know the chapter updates is very chaotic, but it's all just merely following my silly little schedule, which isn't very organized. I really enjoy writing this but sadly I won't be able to update very often due to moving, and- my cat bit me, several times- which makes it so hard to type. I h u r t. I also have a lot to unpack, dear readers. I know- the beginning of this sounded scary huh? thought I said I was gonna discontinue? Silly, Silly reader! I could never. I'm as invested as you are. Thank you again for staying tuned, I'll let you go for your regular programming,
Sincerely, your author-
Tully. ~
The odd pair began to leave the Waffle House, one buzzed off of caffeine and the other high on a different type of cloud 9. As they stepped out, Toby took a small bite of a cherry cheese cake he had requested for on the go.
"Before we meet up with Y/n, we n-need guns" Toby suddenly said, a mouth full of sweets. " Y-you need some type of protection. You're k-kinda useless, matter of fact. You should w-wait at the motel while I go get Y/n"
Ben gave the boy an annoyed glare, he began to protest when his nose suddenly began to bleed again. Prompting Toby to shove one of his many napkins against the boys face, catching it before it could drip down his face. Ben's body stiffened, likely from the suddenness of the whole situation, before carefully cupping the tissue away from the taller males hands, his annoyed glare never leaving his face. "I- point taken. So like, what? A Glock or Smith n Weston or something?" Ben asked, looking up over his sunglasses as he wiped his face clear, the taller boy chuckled at his question.
"H-hell nah, Tim would k-kill us both if we walked a-around with something like that. B-Berretta's only. "
Ben looked at the boy confused, "Why?" he tilted his head in ponder.
" Th-they both jam."
"Oh"
With that the two made their way down the street, Toby's eyes scanning the tree line as they had, while Ben's eyes glanced around at any possible stores when the taller boy got his attention. "H-hey, check it. "
Bens eyes flicked over to where Toby was pointing, an abandoned Jeep sat at the edge, vines wrapped tightly around the wheels and the dark green paint was chipping, underneath was a thick layer of rust. The car had looked as if it had been there for a moment. Without hesitation Toby slid down the hill, landing on his feet with ease while Ben stumbled in behind him, trying his best to keep up with the quicker boy, while also trying not to spill blood on his clothes.
Toby pressed his face to the window, cupping his hands around his face as he had. Ben did the same, and blinked upon seeing a hand gun resting in the passenger seat, with a corpse in the drivers. "I-it's a berretta" He flashed Ben a grin, before frowning. "The passenger d-door is blocked, gotta go over dead man h-here"
They looked at each other,
"I'm not fuckin doin it" Ben said,
"A-and you think I want t-to?" he raised an eyebrow at the blonde, who returned with a pout. " This is more of a uh, you thing. Really- it is" Ben insisted, taking a step back from the car.
"You're the one with the hatchets" he pointed out, making the male roll his eyes. The elf did have a point-
Toby grabbed up one of his hatchets after fiddling with the strap, gripping the orange handle in his gloved hand as he adjusted his shoulders, his high helped him stay steady as he pulled it back and smashed it into the Jeeps window, cleaning it out with a second swing to make it safer to enter. Toby took in a shaky breath, pulling his face guard up over his face- trying to block the smell of the corpse as he pulled himself through. He hummed to himself, trying to distract himself as he pulled himself over to the gun, and it's few magazines as well. He glanced down as he had.
