Risha POV

"I will do the surgery," I heard Alex's voice behind us. I felt somehow relief after seeing him.

"Who are you? And how could we let a stranger do surgery without knowing his skill?" Dr. Oak asked him.

"You don't know me but she does," Alex told him indicating me while I was staring at him with a disbelief look.

I got up from my seat and told him, "I trust you with him," looking at his eyes.

"Don't worry, I am not Abhiudey Knight. I won't make you cry," he stated looking at me intensely.

"Dr. Oak, he is a neurosurgeon. He is more skilled to perform the surgery," I reassured Dr. Oak.

"Alright. Then I am going to tell them to set up the OT immediately," Dr. Oak left the room, leaving the two of us in silence.

"Go. Stay with him until the surgery started," Alex broke the silence. I nodded and went to the cabin where Abhi was. I knew I had to talk to Alex. But right now Abhi needs me. I found Abhi lying on the bed with numerous weirs, tubes, and monitors connected. I hated seeing him like this. I went beside him and sat on the tool, holding his hand.

"You are wrong. I won't be happy without you. It's your responsibility to make me happy and you have to fulfill it. So, you have to come back to me safe and sound," I whispered to him, touching his head. "We have a lot to do Abhi, we have a lot to talk about. You can't just leave me alone, you can't break your promise every time," tears streamed down my face as I held his hand to my lips. I felt his grip tighten unconsciously. A few stuffs came inside to take him to the surgery room at that moment. "You have to remember your promise," I whispered kissing his forehead and letting them take him.

---------

"He will be alright. You know he is strong," Will comforted me, squeezing my hand as we were waiting outside the OT. 'Yeah, he will be okay,' I kept saying myself again and again since the surgery started. At that moment, the door opened and Alex came out. I rushed to him and waited for him to talk.

"The operation is successful," I exhaled a breath which I was holding. "He will be kept in the ICU for observation for the next 24 hours," he informed me.

The nurses brought Abhi out of the surgery room and took him to the ICU. I also followed them. I can stay in the ICU as a doctor. After they left, I sat beside Abhi, looking at him intensely. I could have lost him. At that thought tears brimmed in my eyes.

"You scare the hell out of me. Now wake up fast," I mumbled putting my head on the bed. Then I remember something. "Wait here for me. I have to talk to Alex," I kissed his forehead then went out of the ICU, looking for Alex.

"Where is Alex?" I asked will as I run into him.

"He returned back. He left it for you," he handed me a paper. Alex left without saying anything! I sighed and returned to where Abhi was. I kept staring at the sleeping form of the love of my life. I kept reminding myself he is here with me. He is alright. I drifted off to sleep in relief.

---------

Abhi was shifted to the cabin this evening. He is more stable now. I was sitting beside him holding the letter Alex gave me. I started reading his later.

Dear Rish,

I knew you are stupid but your husband is more stupid than you. He called me three days before and told me to talk care of you if something happened to you. Now I realized what he was talking about.

I am sorry I didn't say goodbye to you before I left. I am still not ready to face you I hope you can understand. By the way, I love you. Take care of yourself and your stupid husband.
