"How about a do over?" Vic proposed one night while we were sitting on the couch together.

"A do over?" I ask, confused.

"Yeah, like, you and I just restart. We've been having some issues lately, so I think it would be good for the three of us to chill out and be more like a couple and a family. I mean, essentially we are going to be a family in eight or so months, so...yeah." I smile at the fact that Vic included the baby into the picture, and that he's actually thinking about us and our future.

"I think I'd like that," I tell him, scooting in a little closer to him and wrapping my arm around his waist. Vic was sitting at the corner of the couch while I was cuddled up into his side with his arm draped around my waist, but his words made me want to be even closer to him.

"I just think it would be positive for all of us. It's not healthy for you or the baby to have all of this stress and unhappiness weighing on you, so I think it's our best option. I also really want to settle down and just be a couple instead of being at each other's throats all the time," Vic tells me. I nod in agreement, leaning my head up a little to kiss his jaw.

"Someone has been doing a bit of research," I whisper against his skin. Vic's cheeks turn a light pink and he smiles down at me while rubbing his hand up and down my side.

"Just a little. I don't think I've been able to fully express how excited I truly am. I know we've had our differences throughout these past few days, but I really want that to stop. I want to embrace our family." I laugh a little at his cheesiness before leaning my head into the crook of his neck and watching the movie we had on. Even though it was only around eight at night, I still managed to fall asleep rather quickly, and happily.

After Vic told me that he was excited about the baby, I became more compliant with his wishes. He wasn't pushing me around by any means, but I began to think more and more about telling his family and letting people know that I was expecting. A lot went into these things, and it wasn't just something you could come right out and say, but I knew that with Vic's support, I would be fine.

Lately, Vic has been extremely helpful and protective of me. School starts in a couple of days, and every time I bring it up in conversation, he reminds me that I should go to him if I have issues, and that he will protect me if I need it. I don't exactly know what he would have to protect me from in college, but I appreciate the notion nonetheless.

Vic's parents had invited us over to a celebratory dinner at their house tonight, and I'm actually pretty excited. His grandparents will be there, and even a couple of his and Mike's friends who attend the college. I was told that they would all like me and that Vic trusts them with his life, so I think tonight might be the night to spill the beans about our relationship and our unborn child.

Just as I was about to go speak with him, Vic walks into the room with a smile on his face.

"Kell, we leave in an hour. This dinner is meant to be sort of casual, so you don't have to dress up like you usually do," he lets me know.

"Alright. I was actually thinking, and I was wondering if you wanted to let everyone know tonight? Like, everyone will be there, so we may as well tell them about the baby and us all at once," I tell him, chewing on my bottom lip as I wait for his answer.

"Yeah, yeah that seems nice. I know it's probably scary for you to think about telling them, but I promise they'll be more excited than upset. Especially my brother. He's probably going to scream about how excited he is to be an uncle, just warning you." I laugh a little and shake my head, imagining Mike doing those things. He doesn't really seem like the kind of person to love kids and things that have to do with a family, but he really is a sweet and compassionate person from what I've heard and witnessed.
