34 | friendship feelings

a/n : before i will start this chapter i want to say something which some people didn't understand , of course will amara always love gavi in some way , but she is allowed to move on , what do you expect her to do? she said that she needs time for herself , but that was nearly months ago so i don't see the reason why she shouldn't find someone new? and again , she is only 17! still young , trying to figure out life . thank you for understanding, i love you all 🫂 .

MASONS POV

loosing the game was just heartbreaking . we thought we got over our bad phase , but we didn't . i don't know what is happening to my home , to my club and i don't want to hear any comments about it .

right now i am driving home with amara in my passengers seat . something was up with her , i just don't know what . she seemed off the whole day and even tho i am only suspecting about it , i think she had a thing with joão . amara was with him all the time and they both left at the same moments . like , are they thinking i am a complete idiot? i was so out of emotions right now and not myself after such a frustrating defeat so i just spoke up .

„do you have a thing with joão?"

boom . i hit right in the red . she sighed .

„i had"

oh

i didn't expect it like this .

„you had?"

i decided to dig further .

„yes , i had"

no talking then , fine .

neither of us said anything during the ride and i could swear i've seen her eyes water .

AMARAS POV

i don't know how to feel about mine and joãos end . i clearly was relieved because him pushing me into something i don't want , was nothing i can just ignore , but we did have our good time in these few weeks . just then i realized how much i craved for a person who knows me really , who loves me in all possible ways and loves me like i am and not a different version of me , i NEED someone who understands all parts of me . i did have that person .

basically i'm saying , that nobody here really knows me , like yes , sophia does and joão too , but it isn't the same . sophia knows some things , but not everything and some things ... she wouldn't understand . same goes for joão . i need pedri, jude, jamal or sira back . or i need to open up and let a new person in . can i really do that? no , i probably can't .

when we arrived home , the first thing i did was calling jamal because i don't want anyone here to understand our conversation .

mason had invited ben chilwell , better known as chilly , reece james and raheem sterling over , they could all understand if i had called jude .

i excused myself and walked away a bit .

„bambi?"

„ja"

„bist du allein?"
-> are you alone?

„ne wir haben ja gerade noch pause mit unseren spielen also is jude nach münchen gekommen und is jetzt neben mir , wieso?"
-> no , we still have the winter break with our games so jude came to munich and is next to me right now , why?

„ich will nicht das jemand unser gespräch mithören kann , aber judey is die ausnahme , mach dich mal auf lautsprecher"
-> i don't want anyone to overhear our conversation , but judey is an exception , put yourself on speaker

„jude? amy is on call"

i heard shuffling and then someone nearly screamed in my phone .

„amsssss hii what's up??"

„hey judey"

„are you okay?"

was the first thing he asked and that led me to telling them everything going on lately , from my first „night" with mason , to my „relationship" with joão and how much i miss them .

„you and this portugese man??? bro he's hot as hell"

„jude , are you admitting something?"

jamal asked and i laughed .

„what? why should-? oh . no! nononono i swear i'm into girls!"

„that's good then"

we talked about it for a while until someone knocked on my door , mason .

„hey we ordered pizza , you want some?"

„yes sure , i'll be down in a bit"

i smiled at him and ended my call with jude and jamal .

„hey"

i said as i came down and sat down next to mason .

„hii"

everyone greeted me and i saw raheem and ben playing fifa while mason and reece where talking about something .

the bell rang and mason went to get the pizza .

„has there ever been anything between you and mason?"

reece asked me and i was taken back .

„what? noo never"

and that's the truth , there'd never be anything except friendship for mason in my heart and i really hope he agrees to that . would be awkward the other way round .

„why you asking?"

„i'm not interested in you , i was just wondering because mason really needs to find himself a girlfriend and you with him would be perfect"

„i don't think so"

„what don't you think?"

mason returned and now looked at us , confused .

„nothing"

reece covered and grabbed a pizza box .

the following evening was good , i played some fifa with mason after they all left and we started to clean up the left overs .

„what have you talked about with reece?"

he didn't forget .

„it was about you"

he looked at me , signaling me to continue .

„well he asked me if there was anything between us because he thinks you need a girlfriend and we'd be perfect together blah blah blah , but i told him that i only have friendship feelings for you"

he nodded .

„me too , i was afraid that i'd catch feelings for you because i am a person that falls very easily for someone , but i didn't , that's the truth . it's not like you're not my type or something , but the ... butterflies aren't there you know?"

i was so relieved that we felt the same way about each other .

„i love that we cleared that up right now"

„me too , i knew you didn't feel anything for me , but hearing it is another way of agreement"

mason and i both went into bed after that and i can say that i was happy about how things were going ; me and mason are friends , i no longer feel bad for not sleeping with joão and i told jude and jamal everything . and i miss barçelona .
