Gradually, Elsa became more confident in her skills with a needle. She took on more difficult challenges in her art and moved from the simple handkerchiefs to raising designs along the edges of some of her clothes. Her clothes were just a simple dark blue outfit that had been replicated into many different pairs, just like my palace uniform had been. On these she inverted some of her own smaller designs. She thought that she might copy some off the carpet for a change but didn't find any to suit. After she had finished doing this to all her clothes in a dark blue thread, and mine in a dark green thread, sh stepped it up another notch once again and started to make entire sets of clothing. As a surprise, my uniform then went from a heavy light green blazer with an awful looking pair of white trousers, to a more lightweight dark green waistcoat covering a black shirt and a more discreet and comfortable pair of black trousers. I know that this sounds like a quick crossover but in reality it took the best part of 6 months behind-my-back work from Elsa. This was to design it all out and tailor it. Believe it or not but I was the one who actually acted as the delivery man for all the materials to make the clothes. I often wondered while I was collecting the items at the market why she wanted the greens and blacks as she only ever wore blue or a turquoise now and again. I never once computed that it was to make this for me. When she presented them to me at the end of the production on Christmas day I was taken back at the effort. She told me as I looked over it in complete awe that the waistcoat took the longest to make as of all the designs that had to be on it, but that it still remained the easiest as it was the same basic process to make the blazer but lightened, desleeved and designed along the rims. I felt a little out done as for that Christmas I had got her a plain pair of turquoise gloves to replace the white ones on special occasions. She then, as planned, went to the liberty of spicing them up for herself with her own personal touches. But the main thing that I did to make up for the lousy present was the turkey Christmas dinner that I eventually made. But, I have to say when it finally looked, and if I don't say so myself, tasted to be fit for THE queen. It was in the oblivious making of this new uniform that she discovered her other talent. This was singing and song writing in her mind.
