Chapter 27

Work began in the April of the fourth year. The first job for the workers was to take out the walls which separated the rooms. It was awkward living around all the workmen. On the first day, Elsa and I switched quarters. She had to be kept away from view of the workers due to her social anxiety and risk of an icy incident which would lead to them finding out, and therefore eventually having the entirety of Arendelle finding out her secret. I, however, was physically safe to be around and was working on improving any social anxiety that I had, so I was okay around the workers. That didn't take away from the fact that it was terrible to be living in and around all the dust and dirt, but I never complained as I knew that it was all for a good cause. Well, that and I was only there for a short time. In the first day of work they constructed an arch through all the rooms including my quarters that was holding Elsa. To let them in I had put up a removable wall of chipboard and left the door in the hallway open so she and I could get in and out if needed. However, she never left and I only went in every hour or so to check on her and to make our meals. During the whole time of the expansion, both my own and Elsa's work was brought to a standstill. In all the dust I could not expose legal documents. Elsa did not have the space to make any garments for her tailoring and on top of that I did not really want to bring any fabric to be sold to the people into the dusty atmosphere. But the most serious and important thing that stopped everything was still to come.
