When I was getting rid of the boards I met Martha in the hallway. She said to me "Are those the boards from Elsa's window? You must be mad taking them down." I replied, saying " No I'm not made, but the first one to see sense, what good did you think that cutting off her on looking point for civilisation was going to be for her?" then, without waiting for her reply, I walked on. Elsa had told me about Martha and about the extent of her consideration for Elsa's welfare before I was there. " all she ever did was come in for ten minutes at around six o' clock and cook whatever she could, which turned out to be very little and as fast as she could before leaving in a hurry. She never once spoke to me in the seven years that I remember. I know why though, she was scared to death by what my parents told her about my incident with Anna. She thought I was evil to the core. She thought if she spent too long with me at any time then she would be running the risk of getting hurt. But to be honest, I never wanted to talk to her. John was a lot more interesting. John did take the time to talk to me but as he was the head of security for my parents and was basically running the palace, he could only ever manage to come in and talk to me for about an hour a month at best."
