Having known her for only six months and experiencing the first rounds of the depression weeks for both the anniversary of the Anna incident and her parents death, I took her out of her quarters for the first time in many years. It wasn't long after the depression week for her parent's death, maybe a fortnight afterwards, and she was experiencing a milder dark day. As it was milder, she was still able to be talked to so when offered the chance to leave here hiding hole for a few hours, she was easily persuaded. However, that doesn't go to say that she was in any way enthusiastic about it. When she left the palace she had to wear a black cloak that she made so that none of the villagers recognised her and caused her any grief. Where she was going, any added grief would tip her over the edge. I was already taking a huge risk as it was. I had no need for a disguise as nobody knew that I had anything to do with Elsa or even who I was. So, I just wore the normal clothes instead of the normal palace uniform that I wore all the rest of the time. If no one knew that we were even coming from the castle, it would be ideal. We took a horse and carriage up to her parent's graveside memorial, where I knew she had never visited. At the time of their actual funeral service I was present and employed by the palace to be Elsa's guard, but I had not yet been to see her for the first time. When I was going up to her quarters for the first time, I met Anna coming the other way looking quite sad and dressed all in black. With experience dealing with her from inside Elsa's quarters, I guessed that she had just been at her door pleading with her to come out. This was the only time I could see through her reasoning. She was now without her parents and her sister remained cooped up in her quarters without emerging for the funeral. However, Elsa would have been in no fit state to attend anyway as her parents were the only two people ever to talk to her, without them her life had been torn apart and she had just began a round of the most severe depression she had ever encountered. If she would have attended she would have almost certainly broke down mentally and froze the area around her as she couldn't control the ice. This would have started another whole world of problems. That was why I was needed. Elsa never forgave herself for not attending the funeral though. That is what partially drove the depression that she experiences in the dark days around the anniversary of her parent's death. That is why I had brought her here to see her parents and to commence closure over them; this would hopefully give her a little peace of mind. Once she pulled back her hood and revealed the graves to her eyes for the first time, she stood silent and motionless. After a minute she approached the graves and read their obituaries upon their gravestones. First her mother, then her father. This took a short time. Afterwards she knelt in between them both and paid her respects. I, who had been on looking at this point and giving Elsa the space to grieve, followed in Elsa's footsteps doing exactly the same before too kneeling beside her. We knelt for about ten minutes before settling back into a more comfortable sit. Elsa then burst out in a desperate need to express herself. This had become a very emotionally saddening time for Elsa and I do not wish to go into too many details about the aspects of the conversation. Still it was a prolonged conversation that filled the best part of the next two hours. This was not wasted either as it did bring her closure over her thoughts and guilt of missing their funeral. From here on in, the depression around the time of the anniversary of her parent's death was never as severe but still existent. Later that week, after dwelling for a while on the topic, she thanked me for bringing her to their grave as she felt that it had really helped her come to peace with her thoughts of blame her mind had created. However, despite much thought on the matter, I never found a solution to the Anna problem. As Anna was still alive though, I left this to be sorted out in due time.
