Camilo POV:

I let my fingers strum the ukulele with all my might. This song. This song means everything to me in this moment. If Andrés is right then this might find him.
Please reach him.
Please, Y/N come back to me- to us.  The music got louder and louder till my fingers couldn’t take the strumming anymore.

I listened closely throughout the song and I heard something. I felt something. I could’ve sworn I heard him. He was singing along with the music. He was, he had to.

“ I think I heard him. “

Andrés’ face lit up with joy,

“ I couldn’t hear anything but I hope you’re right. Let’s go find mi hijo.”

I nodded my head in response, continuing towards the area I thought I heard him in. Andrés and I shouted out for Y/N. We went still after every try, listening for anything that could tell us where he was.
Then we heard it…crying.

I sprinted towards the noise with Andrés right behind me.

"Y/N, ARE YOU IN THERE?!" Andrés screamed.

Please be here.
Please be ok.
I backed up slightly before circling the large mass of rubble. I ran my hand over the cement feeling every jagged area. I felt the optimism oozing out of me. My body felt weak once again while Andrés waited for a response. My legs fell beneath me.
With my body crouched down I leaned my head against the cement,

"Y/N, please be ok." I whispered, "Please be here, just please be alive."

My voice cracked with every word.

"Camilo," Andrés was standing behind me, "Help me move this block over here, it's smaller than the rest."

I dragged my body back up and wiped my glossy eyes. I followed Andrés like a puppet, every move I made was a mimic of his.
Once we made it over I realized Andrés' hands were already red. He must've been trying to move it before. We placed our hands on the block and started our attempt to move it.

I pushed the block from the side while Andrés pulled it downwards. It budged a little, slowly but surely.

I immediately stopped to take a look inside and jumped back in horror.

The potent smell of iron rushed out.

"What? Is he in there?!" Andrés pushed past me to see the same sight.

Only a small slit of light trickled into the space, illuminating handprints on the side of the wall.

I'm burning up, I feel sick.

Y/N POV:

The sun is so warm, the grass so soft. I love this place. The grass blades welcoming me in and tickling my face. The wind rushing past me. I'm so happy. I heard someone walking over and quickly sat up.

"Hello?" I questioned.

"Hi! Are you enjoying it here?"

"Yes? I always do."

"Do you?"

"Yes?"

"Who are you?"

"I should be asking you that. How'd you find this place?"

"How'd you find this place?"

"Stop that, I asked you first."

"Who?"

"You! Who are you?"

"Who am I?"

"Yes! Who are you?"

"Y/N, who am I?"

"How do you know my name? Who-"

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  I jolted my head up.
Screaming? Who is screaming? I reached my hand out to feel the sun?

The sun! I tried to crawl forward to it but then a voice called out to me.

"Y/N! Y/N! YOU'RE ALIVE!" I know that voice, but everything still feels so fuzzy. I heard footsteps moving towards me.

"Y/N, ARE YOU OK?!" Why is he yelling?

"Y/N, Can you hear me?" I nodded my head in response.

The man crouched down and placed his hands on my face.

"Mi hijo, things are going to be ok. I promise I will do everything I can to make sure you are safe." He grabbed onto me, pulling me into a tight hug.

Tears began to tug at my eyes once again.

"I love you, mi hijo. I'm so happy that you're alive. I thought I lost you- I thought" he stopped himself immediately, "Can you walk?" I shook my head.

"I'm going to pick you up and take you somewhere to rest, ok?" I nodded my head once again.

He picked me up and I felt as though a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.
The sun beat down on me, the wind ruffled my hair, I'm alive, I'm going to be ok, I'm going to be safe.

The burning still stung at my wrist but it was nothing like before. I'm so happy Pa found me. Pa? Of course! How could I forget?

"And I'll get you your favorite food, a warm comfy blanket, tons of water, bandages, there's so much to do but you don't have to worry about anything!"

"Pa?"

"Yes?"

"I love you too."

Pa placed his hand on my back and patted it gently. I laid my head down on his shoulder and felt exhaustion wash over me. I let myself drift off to sleep.

Camilo POV:

I continued to sit in shock. Andrés left with Y/N. I need to go check on him. He's alive but will he stay that way? Is he ok?

No… he's hurt.

He needs help and Andrés is helping him but I'm stuck. I can't move. I'm so scared. Why couldn't I do anything? I gritted my teeth but my body stayed frozen.

"Camilo! There you are!" Mami's voice echoed, "Camilo?"

She moved directly behind me to see what I did then let out a gasp. She jumped in front of me while grabbing my hands.

"Stand up, Milo. We're going back."

I picked myself up slowly and Mami dragged me along behind her.

"I need to check on Y/N." I stated.

"Let's wait on that, alright? Mira is still-"

"NO! I NEED TO SEE HIM!" I screeched out. Mami stared at me the way she did Andrés before. Pity.

"Ok, we'll go see him."

"Right now."

"Ok, let me grab Toñito."

I barely remember the walk over but I know I ended up far ahead of Mami and Tonito. I walked into where Mami said he'd be and there he was.
He was laying on a bed with many bandages around his forehead and a rag sitting on top of those. A big blanket draped over his body, a cup of water sat at the bedside.
I directed my attention to his chest, watching for him to take a breath. Thankfully, he did. He's breathing. He's alive. I felt my face contort into a beaming smile.

I'm so relieved, I'm so happy. I took a seat in a chair close to the bed he was sleeping in and leaned back. Letting myself drift away too.
