Ashton parks his car at the garage. His dad’s car also parked there means his parents are already home. Both his dad and mom are pharmacists. He has a little brother named Noah who is 7 and is close friend to Colton who lived next door.
Ashton and Noah are the only kids Mr. and Mrs. Evan got. They’re both working but they always do their best to spend time with their sons. Mrs. Evan has hired an old nanny to look after their sons especially Noah. Mrs. Jones is their nanny since Ashton was 3. She only works on weekdays, when Mr. and Mrs. Evan are not around. She’ll works from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mr. and Mrs. Evan will come home around 5 p.m.
Mrs. Jones is happy to work for them because they’re kind and generous. It’s hard to find a kind employer these days and that makes her thinks that she’s lucky for having them as her employer.
“I’m home!”
“You’re late today.”, mom responds. She and dad are at the living room watching TV. Ashton only shows his smile. He takes a seat besides her mom and put his bag on his lap.
“What’s up with school?”, his dad asks.
“So far so good and I will get another awards for the highest marks this year.”, he answers happily. His parents are smiling too and he likes it when he’s the reason behind their smile.
“I’m proud of you son.”, dad says, patting his shoulder.
“Me too!”, mom gives him a tight hugs and kisses her son’s cheeks that makes him giggle.
“What subject did you get the highest marks?”, his dad asks.
“English, Physics and Math.”, he answers.
“When is the ceremony?”, his dad says, he means The Excellence Award ceremony.
“I don’t know but the day will come dad, don’t you worry.”, he says, teasing. Then, he grabs his bag and stands, “I want to go upstairs.”
“Just eat if you’re hungry, the leftovers are in the fridge.”, tells his mom.
“Okay, mom. Thanks.”, he replies and goes upstairs to his bedroom.
He lays down on the bed. He still wondering what made Stacey cried and he really wants to know the person who she speaking with on the phone. He falls asleep as he wonders about Stacey.
