Chapter 25

Ashton can't believe his eyes. Did he just saw Stacey? With Christian? Christian the handsome and popular guy at the college where he been transferred to? He wasn't so sure about it first because Stacey is wearing glasses and she never dressed like that.

"Is that Stacey?", Liz says. Now, he is really sure that it was Stacey.

"OMG! Is that Christian?", she continues. Even Liz knows him because the course they attend for one week is at his college. Stacey is with him now, huh? He follows Liz without realizing it when she grabs his arm and drags him towards the lovely couple.

"Stacey! Is that you?", they turns to them.

"Liz?"

"Hello! How are you?", Liz greets cheerfully as she gives her hand to shake her hand with Stacey.

"Good.", she answers while recieving Liz's hand.

"How are you Ashton?", she asks uncomfortably. Ashton is scary when he's serious, like right now.

"Good. Even great when my girlfriend is with me.", now his hand is holding Liz's hand.

"Really?", she responds in surprise.

"Yeah. You don't want to introduce him to us?", he says while his eyes are on Christian.

"Oh, sorry. This is Christian, he's..."

"I'm her boyfriend.", Christian interrupts and wraps his arm around Stacey's shoulder. Ouch! That's hurt. It's like Ashton's heart got stabbed with knife for many times.

"You both got transferred here?", Stacey asks, still uncomfortable.

"No, no. I just attending a course here with Ashton but he will directly be transferred here.", Liz replies and Ashton's eyes are on Stacey making her nervous.

"Okay, I think we should go.", Christian excuses themselves to leave after chatting with them for a while.

"Okay.", Ashton says while gives them his fake smile. He watches them leave until they disappear from his view.

"What was that?", Liz roughly pulls her hand from Ashton's when Stacey and her boyfriend already gone.

"Sorry. ."

Liz is about to throw her anger at Ashton but she knows that he's not the kind of person who will betrays his friend like that. There must be a reason, could it be..

"You still love her didn't you?", she curiously asks. The silence that he gives her tells that he still does.

"Oh, Ash..", she hugs him. Oh Ashton, he has been waiting her for a long time. He had told her once that he liked Stacey since the first day they met but he wasn't so sure about his feeling and thought it was just a puppy love since they're still kids. He only realized that he is really in love with her after they reconciled and he still had the same feeling towards her.

"Sorry Ash..", she releases him from the hug.

"I'm okay.", he smiles. That's fake, she knows it.

"You should just tell her."

"No, she's happy now. Maybe I can just be her friend. If she's happy then I'm happy for her too.", he says. But you're not happy, Liz says personally. Poor Ashton, he went all the way here for Stacey but all he got was pain.

"Are you okay?", Christian concernly asks. The tears start to stream down Stacey's face. Gosh, she must be looked horrible right now.

"Hey..", he hugs her as soon as he stops the car at the roadside and brushes her hair with his hand.

"I miss him.", she still sobbing.
