It's you

Chapter 15

He is sitting on the swing, watching Noah playing by himself. He had told Stacey to bring Colton with her.

He keeps glancing at his watch. He smiles. Silly him. He was there since 3 and a half. Isn't it too soon? It's not even 4.

"Boo!", both Stacey and Colton scream from behind him. Ashton jumps when being surprised like that.

"Whoopsie!", Stacey teases.

"Jeez Stacey!", she laughs at him loudly.

Well, his face is funny. Only special person like her can see it. You only see that face once in a blue moon.

"Go play now, Colton.", she says, releasing his hand from hers. Upon released from Stacey's hand, he runs happily toward Noah. Stacey then takes her seat on the swing next to Ashton.

"So, what is it?", she asks.

"Well..it's.", he sighs. He is really nervous right now.

"What?!", Stacey says impatiently.

"Do you have boyfriend?", he nervously asks.

"Why did you ask?", she frowns as she chuckles.

"Because I never saw you hanging out or go out with any guys before."

"Well, I don't feel like I want to have one since..", she stops before finishing her words. Her face expression also changes. It's like she just told him a secret.

"Since?", he curiously asks as he rises his brows, waiting for her to continue.

"Nothing. I just don't want to have boyfriend right now.", she lies.

"You're lying."

"No.."

"Tell me.", Ashton says seriously.

"Tell you what?", Stacey pretends like she never said anything.

"Since what?", he still with his serious tone.

"Why do you really want to know?", she replies annoyingly. This is the first time that he's being like this since they reconcile.

"Because I want to. Tell me.", he's like the old Ashton who will never stop demanding for answers until she tells the truth.

"Okay! Okay!", she surrenders.

"Since the day I told you that I fell in love with you. You laughed at me then you rejected me.", she chuckles, that was funny and one of the most embarrassing things that ever happened to her. She didn't blame him for rejecting her but she felt embarrassed of herself for being shameless and bravely said 'I love you' to a boy. She was 10 that time, still a kid.

"You still don't have boyfriend right now just because of that?!", he can't believe that he's the reason why she doesn't have boyfriend.

"It's embarrassing, you know! It's like trauma.", she says shyly when reminds of it.

"Sorry.", Ashton says with guilty.

"No. I didn't blame you for that.", she replies, chuckling.

"Why don't you give a try?", he suggests.

"Try what?"

"Open your heart to fall in love again.", he mumbles but Stacey still can hear it.

"Ha, no way!", she laughs. It's not that easy.

Ashton decides to not to tell her about him falling in love with her. Although she just said it was embarrassing but he knows that she must have been hurt and it's okay if he keeps that feeling even if it's hurt because Stacey already felt that. Great! Fair and square, yes?

#It's hard to open a heart that was already closed.
