Chapter 27

Liz Edward: Hi Stacey, this is Liz. I have something to tell you, please reply me if you see this.

Stacey checks her email account and receives Liz's email. What does she want to tell her? Maybe she wanted to tell her that she will gets married to Ashton soon.

Stacey: Hi. What is it?

She replies. It's 4.50 pm now. She's sure that Liz is still there because the email was sent about half an hour ago.

Liz Edward: About Ash. Actually we're not as what you think we are.

As expected, she's still there.

Stacey: What do you mean?

Liz Edward: We're not a couple. Stacey, he loves you for a long time and I know you do too. The way you look at him, I can tell it. You love him, don't you?

What is she talking about? Ashton said she's his girlfriend and now she told her the opposite?

Stacey: Why did he do that if he loves me?

She clicks the 'send' button. If he loves her then why did he do that to her? Is that 'love'? Are they playing with her or something? Hey, she's not that easy to being played! Don't think that she looks like a geek, she's weak. Did Ashton really want to break her? Be careful with who you're playing with, dude! She breathes harshly, that makes her angry. They're trying to fool her, huh? Her tears start to stream down her face too. It hurts!

Liz Edward: I don't know. Maybe he's jealous of you with Chris. Stacey, believe me. We're nothing but friends. Tell me, you love him. Right?

She didn't know? Why did she tell her that they're nothing if she doesn't have the answer of why Ashton admitted that she's his girlfriend? What a bad liar!

Stacey: Sorry, I cannot believe you. If he really loves me, then there must be a reason why he did that.

Before Liz replies it, there's another email from Stacey.

Stacey: I have to go. Take care, Liz. Take a good care of him too. Bye.

Stacey folds her laptop harshly and continues crying as she wonders how much more time she should cry because of Ashton? Why can't she just move on with her life?

2 weeks later

Her phone rings. She looks at the screen, it's Christian who's calling.

"Hello."

"Hey, I just want to inform you that I will be home tonight."

"OK, is there actually anything you want to tell me?", she asks. There's a silence from him.

"I want you to get ready for dinner before I got home.", he says after being silent for a while.

"What?", dinner? He never asks her to dinner before.

"Yeah, make sure to dress up beautifully okay, I don't want to go out with a duckling.", he teases her and ends the call immediately before she even replies him. She looks at her phone for a while with a frown on her face. He never asks her to go to dinner with him before. Is he for real?

She doesn't like to go to dinner, she knows he knew that. It's not so her and not so Christian too. Christian is not a romantic person. Why is he like this? Does he already change his taste? She doesn't want to dress up for dinner tonight. Let her be herself. Just put on a t-shirt and jeans. That's it. There's no need to wear glasses, its night anyway. Actually she's not short-sightedness or long-sightedness or night blindness or something. She wore glasses because her eyes couldn't bear the glare of sun and she just wear it because they kind of give her confidence.

Stacey got a call from Christian once again.

"Make sure to dress up beautifully. I'm about to reach home. If you didn't do as what I told you, you're done and you'll regret it."

"Hmm..", she responds. He always says that and nothing happened but sometimes she did regret that she didn't listen to him. But it's just a dinner and she thought it's not a problem if she dressed up simply. She doesn't care if he calls him duckling, she never dreamt of being a swan anyway. About 15 minutes later, Christian is home and Stacey opens the door for him.

"I told you to dress up beautifully!", he scowls at her, she scowls at him back.

"What?", he says firmly because he doesn't like it when she disobeys him. Stacey cannot do anything but grins at him. She must admit that he's funny but scary at the same time especially when she won't listen to him.

"I just want to be myself. I'm over with those stuffy dresses. You know I didn't like them.", she gathers the courage to talk back to him with her head down. Christian is silent for a while.

"Okay then.", he says then continues, "Did I made you tired because I make you wear all that?"

"What? No! I'm not tired. I just don't really like to wear dresses, you know that."

Christian then hugs her. Tightly.

"Sorry then."

What is up with Christian today? He's being weird.

"Is there something wrong?"

"Nope. Nothing wrong.", is he crying? She tries to loosen herself from his hug to make him release her.

"Tell me, what's wrong with you?", she asks after he releases her from the hug.

"Nothing.", he says, trying to control his voice.

"Don't lie, Chris! Tell me!", she scolds, she's stressed with it. What is the thing he keeps from her? Why does she feels like people being annoying today?

"It's nothing my girl. I just found out that I failed my exam today.", he replies.

"Really?! But you never fail. How come?"

"I don't know either.", he shrugs with hurt expression on the face.

"Oh, sorry Chris.", she hugs him. Christian tries to hold back his laugh. The truth is, he didn't fail. Like hell he will allow himself to fail for exams! He just wanted to make some drama. She was funny when she's angry that he didn't tell her his problem. What a caring little sister, so cute.

"Let's go for dinner.", he says as they release their hug.

"Ok."

Christian looks at Stacey up and down.

"What?", she frowns.

"Are you sure you wanna go like this?"

"Yeah."

"Ok then.", he smirks. You're sure you won't regret it, my girl?

...I wanna say sorry for Stacey's behalf because she's being moody. I didn't know what's up with her. Maybe because of the changing of hormones or something. Please don't hate me!
