Oneshot: Guntz X Lainey

AN: This oneshot takes place during the ending of Klonoa Dream Chap Tournament!

Guntz smiled at Klonoa's victory. Everyone was cheering for the dream traveling hero for saving their lives once again. He was just the backup, but did everything he could to save the lives of everyone in this so called tournament. "You did great kid," Guntz told himself with a small laugh. He really did love the surrounding of his biggest rival.

Lainey was in the mix too, but she was with the crowd. She had never felt so happy in her entire life. No longer being alone, having friends, being picked on due to her appearance no more. After laughing to herself, she watched Guntz leave. "Lainey. What's wrong?" Popka asked her. "Excuse me would you?" she told him. Then she ran towards Guntz. "Hey!" Lainey shouted. Guntz span around when he heard her hey. "Hmm?" he said softly.

Lainey then ran up to his side and asked, "Where are you headed? Why not join the others?" Guntz sighed. "I'm more of a loner. I did everything I could to help the kid. He's pretty great I'll say that," Guntz then said to her, making her giggle. He cocked his head at her, wondering what her giggle was all about. "Well, I giggled because you agree with me that Klonoa is a cool dude!" she said. Guntz blushed, with a big eyed expression on his face. He turned around, embarrassed. "What did I say?" she asked. "N-Nothing!" Guntz replied.

This was when she span him around, seeing his blushing face and expression. "Oh I get it! You're a big softie!" she laughed. Guntz sighed, admitting those words. "I try to be harsh, but really I am a big softie like you said. And....." Guntz hesitated at his last line. He then sighed again. He had to admit his feelings. It was the point of no return. "And it's also the fact that I like you." Lainey gasped. "You.....like me?" He nodded, scratching behind his head. Guntz didn't know how to put it into words, but he expressed them all very clearly.

"Ever since the tournament, I really liked your style of fighting. Wielding a variety of weapons is very impressive for someone like you. I did appreciate you being nice to me during the times we fought together. There was this feeling in me that really made me feel flustered on the inside. It was that I liked you. If you wanna be my.....girlfriend.....then I don't mind," Guntz expressed straining at the word girlfriend. Before he could reply, Lainey hugged him happily. "Yes!! I'd love to be your date!" she laughed. That went faster than expected, Guntz thought to himself. He then smiled after when she kissed him.

"Here," Lainey then said, pulling out some prize money. Guntz gasped. "Where did you-" he started. Lainey then split the money and gave him half. "We also got prize money for saving everyone, so I decided to split it!" Lainey explained. "Enough for the two of us!" Guntz then laughed shortly and thanked her. He never had been happier in his whole life now that Lainey had entered it. Would Klonoa tease him? Probably. Guntz didn't care though, and he couldn't wait to see what adventures the two would go on on the road ahead.
