Oneshot: Levi and Kitsunami

AN: This oneshot takes place shortly after the ending of Issue 56 of IDW Sonic!

"Levi. Levi! Please Levi, speak to me!" were the very words she heard from her best friend and partner Kitsunami, who was shoving her side in worriment. There, among them, was Sonic, his girlfriend Annabelle, and her little brother Tails, Whisper's Wisps floating around them. Levi happened to look up at her friend, who was getting worried sick about her.

Sonic's ears drooped at the sight he was witnessing. He actually felt sorry for Levi, for she was the one who had failed to save the one she loved the most: her sibling. Surge was gone for now, but the fact that Levi couldn't save the one she cared about a lot broke her heart. She began to have a trauma, right in front of all of them.

Eggman and Metal had left the scene to Tails' surprise. He'd figured that the two would return back to their base in this Egg City to plot their next scheme after failing to get back his weapon and Surge. Afterwards, Levi looked at Kit, tears in her eyes. "I couldn't save him Kit. I wanted us to be together," she told him. The fennec responded by hugging her and with these words: "We can reason with him. We can bring him back. He needs you the most."

Levi realized that her friend was right. She got up, wiped her tears fully, and stood tall against the storm that was holding her down. That made Sonic's ears go back up as he smiled happily at his new friend and ally getting back up again. "Thank you Kit. You're the best friend and partner I could ever ask for," Levi said smiling at him. "I-It's nothing honestly," Kit said with a slight blush.

A quick headpat from Levi made Kit laugh happily. It reminded Sonic of his first adventure with Annabelle and Tails, and how he always headpatted them. "Come on guys. Let's go home. I bet Whisper can't wait to see her Wisps again!" Annabelle exclaimed a Tails and Sonic nodded in agreement. Levi and Kit traveled with the group, looking back at their former home one final time before starting the long journey to their new home.

The wind whipped Levi's face as she and the others stood outside, Sonic happy to feel the wind in his quills and to see sunlight after hours of fighting with Surge. Levi and Kit couldn't have been happier with her being gone too, but him.....her sibling.....it brought tears to her face. She had to keep going though. Nothing was gonna slow her down from the past. Kit was also there to be her comfort buddy too.

Levi smiled at Sonic, Tails, and the hedgehog's girlfriend Annabelle as they all walked home. They didn't exactly care about the other people that looked and talked about them on the way to Tails' and Annabelle's workshop. They were just happy to be out of this mess. "Do you think people will stop rambling about us later on down the road?" Kit asked Levi. "Of course. Now that we're friends with Sonic and friends, we're no longer the enemies," she replied to Kit.

When the arrived at the workshop, Levi first plopped on the couch as Sonic reunited Whisper with her Wisps. She thanked Sonic happily for getting them back for her. At the same time, Tails and Annabelle decided to repair/make a new Wispon for Whisper, since Surge did shatter her old one. Sonic wanted to join the chimera and fennec, but decided to leave them be. He joined Tails and Annabelle in their workspace.

As for the creations of Starline, they were too busy talking to each other. "Surge will return...right?" Kit asked worryingly. "Not for awhile Kit. Which I'm glad about..." she trailed at the end of her sentence as Kit sighed in relief. The fennec had a hard time with the tenrec due to how she was mistreating him. With Levi though, it all changed for Kit. She gave him the guidance he needed to keep going on. In fact, he started disliking Surge when they made their escape from the Egg city.

They sat there and had their little conversations about the future and what it meant for them on the couch, Sonic peering from the door to check on them. He was happy to see the two of them having a great time together. "Oh! Remember when we made that ice statue? You shaped it with your water and I froze it!" Levi exclaimed as Kit replied, "That was fun. I remember that!"

Even if they had a past long since forgotten, Levi and Kitsunami had a bond that never broke. With Sonic and his friends and allies at his side, anything seemed possible, and so did the bright and wonderful future that laid ahead of them.
