Oneshot: Sleepover on the High Seas

AN: Just a lil headcanon idea I had of the Straw Hats having sleepovers on the Thousand Sunny whenever they were out at sea heading to their next destination as well as me enjoying slapping modern stuff into fandoms I'm in. Enjoy everyone!

Night had rolled around fast in the New World, the stars twinkling above in the darkened skies. The infamous vessel of the Straw Hat pirates, the Thousand Sunny, slowly drifted across the waters as the Straw Hat crew all headed to the main deck with sleeping bags and pillows. Mirai had hosted yet another sleepover for the crew to attend to, and this had been the first sleepover the crew had in ages! The first time they had one was when they still had the Going Merry and when Chopper and Nico Robin first joined. Everyone had a blast that first sleepover Mirai held, and Luffy loved it so much to the point that he wanted to do it again one night. They did while they were on their way to Water Seven, the final one they would have on the Merry before the day the crew parted with her.

Even after when they obtained the Thousand Sunny and when Franky joined as the team's shipwright, Mirai hadn't even thought of having another sleepover. Heck, not even after Thriller Bark and when Brook joined. But now, Mirai could finally host another sleepover after two full years of the crew being separated after a long time period of training. Everyone had indeed gotten stronger over the past two years, but it made her happy just to see that everyone was together again. "Yeah!! Sleepover time!!" Luffy exclaimed happily as Mirai chuckled in response. Luffy hadn't changed a bit, and that was a good thing. Heck, no one had changed at all after two years, not even Chopper's old habits.

The others were looking forward to it, not just Luffy. Nami and Robin were both excited, Zoro and Sanji didn't even fight and were happy to have some relaxation, Usopp was just as eager as ever to have some fun again, and Chopper's eyes were beaming brightly over the fact that he would get to have a chill night with his Mirai again as he held onto his own bag in his normal form while Mirai carried his pillow. She had to explain the whole point of a sleepover to Franky and Brook, since the two weren't with them when they had the previous two sleepovers, yet the two men remembered hearing Mirai ramble about one during their voyage to the Sabaody Archipelago.

Once they understood, the two men joined the others. "Can you believe it? Our first sleepover after two years!" Chopper exclaimed happily. Mirai smiled in response and replied, "You know it! This also gives me the perfect chance to improve them too now that we have a new ship! I mean, I did enjoy the two sleepovers we had on the Merry, but with the Sunny, I feel like we can spice things up a bit!" The reindeer smiled and laughed. What his student/assistant said was true, and he couldn't wait to see what she had in store this time.

Both Chopper and Mirai placed their bags side by side once they reached the main deck of the Sunny, since the two always tended to sleep together since they still shared that powerful sibling bond. In fact, Luffy had given Chopper permission to sleep with Mirai on some nights whenever he felt like it, since even though he could sleep on his own, there were some nights where he would head to the women's room so he could sleep with his assistant, since he tended to feel safer with her sometimes whenever he couldn't sleep or when he recalled a bad memory or had a bad dream. She always called Chopper her stuffed animal/cuddle buddy whenever that happened.

Everyone took the time to get situated as Mirai straightened out her pj shirt and lounge pants. In fact, her, Usopp, and Chopper were all wearing matching pjs for the night! It was a little something the three liked to do to show their friendship as a trio. Mirai walked in front of everyone as she held a notepad and pen in her hands as everyone sat on their bags and looked at Mirai. "As you may all know, this is the third official sleepover of the Straw Hat pirates, this being Franky and Brook's first one. I feel like we can spice up our sleepovers now with our new ship. See what features she has for these occasions," she explained to all of them.
