EMERALD'S POV::
"I don't know though, man. Like, he doesn't seem like a dick." I sighed.
"You haven't had a boyfriend since like, year 4. Why do you want one now?" Ronnie's deep voice came through the speaker on my phone.
"I don't fucking know, he seems like a nice kid." I replied, starting to get annoyed.
"Have you facebook stalked him yet?" Ronnie chuckled.
"No and I'm not planning on it either." I scoffed.
"You do it all the time with every other new kid that comes to school. You're turning into a pussy and you've only known him for a day!" My best friend exclaimed.
"Oh, p*ss off. If it means that much to you I'll facebook stalk him." I replied, walking over and sitting down in the seat by my desk.
"I don't know his last name though." I said as I clicked onto facebook, logging in quickly.
"It's Waddington!" I heard Matty yell through the phone.
"Cheers." I laughed quietly to myself.
I typed the name into the search bar and scrolled past a few people before I came across the Isaac I knew. I put the phone on speaker and placed it beside my laptop as I slowly scrolled through his profile.
"There really isn't anything interesting on here to be honest. Like, a few selfies and pictures of friends but nothing else." I shrugged, clicking on his pictures.
"Whatever you do, don't like his pictures." Ronnie warned.
"Jesus Christ, I'm not that bad at stalking." I gasped, mocking offense.
"You are though." Ronnie retorted.
I didn't reply as I clicked through his pictures, stopping abruptly when I came across a video of him sat at a piano. I unplugged my headphones from the laptop and clicked play on the video.
"Dude, I found a video of him playing piano or something." I told Ronnie.
I turned the volume up and sat back in my seat as the music spilled out of my speakers. I closed my eyes when I heard him begin to play the piano, trying to figure out what the song was.
I opened my eyes and furrowed my brows when I heard someone start singing. I leant forward and checked to see if it was actually Isaac.
I finally realised he was playing She's Always a Woman and he was singing it too.
"Damn." I whispered, leaning my chin on my fist.
I sat in complete silence until the end of the video.
"That was him singing too?" Ronnie suddenly spoke up.
"Yeah." I mumbled, kind of just sat there in a daze.
"Shit, he's almost a better singer than me." Ronnie joked.
I laughed slightly before saying, "Yeah whatever man, I've got some stuff I need to do. I'll text you later."
"Alright, I love you man." Ronnie said.
"Love you too." I smiled as I hung up the phone.
We'd been best friends since I was 5 and he was 8 and people always think we're brother and sister when they first meet us. We meet because of our dads and I honestly don't think I could ever thank my dad enough for taking me to that shitty business party back in 2005.
I stood up from my desk and walked over to the large open window on the other side of my room. I picked up my leather jacket on the way there and pulled out the packet of cigarettes I had in the pocket along with a lighter.
I leant out the window as I lit the cigarette, pulling it away from my lips and blowing out a puff of smoke. I watched as white swirls of smoke floated up into the night sky.
The only sounds outside was the hum of car engines as they occasionally drove past my house and the sound of skateboard wheels rolling across the floor. Wait.
Skateboard wheels?
I looked down at the ground to see a boy around my age skating down the pavement. I squinted slightly to look at him to try and figure out if I knew him.
I gasped slightly when I figured it out before yelling, "Isaac!"
Isaac stopped moving as he looked around for a second before his eyes landed on me. I lifted my hand and waved, winking at him.
He smiled slightly and looked down at the ground before looking back up and waving. I smiled before he carried on skating down the street, stopping only a few moments later outside a house before walking inside.
