EMERALD'S POV::

As I walked into my English class the next morning I decided that I would actually stay the whole time because I wanted to tease this Isaac kid. That and the fact that I had been given an hour detention after school on Friday; I wasn't exactly looking forward to that.

I looked up at the clock when the teacher began taking the register and the dark-haired boy I was waiting for still hadn't shown up. I sighed and pulled out my notebook, beginning to write down any lyrics that came to mind that I could draft into a song later on.

I got lost in what I was writing so I didn't look up when the door slammed open but I did when I feel a big breeze go past me and caught the largest whiff of cologne ever.

Isaac had sat down in his chair with his bag and blazer on the table, the collar of his white shirt up and he was trying to fix his tie. His hair was messy and his eyes were droopy as if he'd just woken up.

When I saw he was struggling to tie the purple fabric around his neck I spoke up, "Here, let me."

He looked up at me as I grabbed the tie around his neck, undoing the large knot he'd created and beginning to fix it into a neater one. As I was wrapping the tie around itself my hand brushed against his neck and I literally felt a shiver go down his spine.

I mean damn, I know I'm irresistible but jeez.

I chuckled slightly as I smoothed down the tie before leaning back in my seat.

"So," I began, "why'd you ignore me last night?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." He replied after a moment of silence.

"Mm hmm, you're really bad at facebook stalking, you know that?" I teased.

"Actually, that's the first time I fucked up, I'm usually quite good." He retorted before he could realise what he was saying.

"Wow, so stalking's a hobby for you huh? Should I be concerned?" I asked.

"I didn't mean it like that." He waved me off.

"Seriously though, I wanna get to know you and you just blew me off. Is it because of my profile picture 'cause my selfie game was not strong that day." I winced.

"No, honestly, I had to go help my mum with something." He replied.

"Mummy's boy?" I laughed.

"Daddy's girl?" He shot back at me.

"Actually I'm not, he's a d*ck." I said, honestly.

"I don't know, my dad can't cook so that kinda ruins him for me to be honest." He shrugged.

I laughed quietly before turning to try and pay attention to where the teacher was going on about Shakespeare's intelligence or something like that.

I kind of zoned out when he started assigning a task, going back to the lyrics I was writing down so when chatter erupted throughout the class I was more confused than I was last week during algebra.

"Dude what the f*ck is going on?" I asked Isaac.

"He wants us to begin writing an analytical essay on Romeo and Juliet." He answered.

"I'm awful at that what the f*ck should I do?!" I exclaimed.

"Look, I'll help you. It's easy, you just need to analyse like the whole play. He wants us to focus on their relationship though. Talk about whether it was healthy or not considering the age difference and what not." Isaac explained, pointing at some things that were on the hand out we'd been given.

"How am I meant to get this done in under half an hour?" I frowned.

"You'll be fine." Isaac chuckled.

I rolled my eyes and turned to my notebook again, carrying on writing lyrics and not really thinking about this essay that I would inevitably have to do in my detention on Friday anyway.
