ISAAC'S POV::
As we were sat on my bed working on this essay I couldn't stop thinking about what Emerald had said earlier. I couldn't understand why she thought she was a f*ck up, she was perfect to me. She was talented and she was beautiful, she had a great personality and was laid-back as hell.
Emerald had finished her part of the essay so it was just me going through and editing it now as she sat beside me writing in her little lyric book. I was trying to think of a way to bring up what she had said so I could try to understand what she meant.
"Hey Emerald?" I finally decided to grow a pair and speak up.
"Yeah?" She looked over at me and smiled.
Honestly, her smile could bring world peace. It practically lit up the whole room even though we were sat with the light turned off, the only source of light in the room being my laptop and her phone.
"Uh, what did you mean earlier? Like not exactly the f*ck up bit but what you said before." I explained awkwardly.
"Every time I close my eyes, it's like a dark paradise?" She raised her thin black eyebrows.
"Yeah that one."
"It's a song lyric but it relates to me in a way. Like I said earlier, I wasn't always like this. I was pretty popular a few years ago because I was always happy and apparently I just had a good aura around me." She shrugged.
"What happened then?" I frowned.
"I shut everyone out. I figured that if my own father betrayed my trust then no one else deserves to have my trust. It makes no sense now but it did then." She chuckled sadly.
"You used to be really good friends with Charlie though, surely he deserved your trust."
"I thought no one did though. He knew some of my deepest secrets and he was like my f*cking brother and I just pushed him away." Her voice shook a little towards the end of her sentence, as if she was about to cry.
"Is the dark paradise you see behind your eyes as beautiful as you?" I whispered.
"It's stunning. I don't think you'd like it though." She sniffled slightly.
"Maybe I will. What if I do like it? What if I actually did want to be with you?" I wrapped my arms around her shoulder.
"That depends, will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?" She looked up at me as a tear rolled down her face.
"I know I will. Be mine?"
"Of course." She smiled and brought our lips together once again.
