ISAAC'S POV::

"What actually happened?" I frowned.

"I don't know, I was just drinking then I started sweating and throwing up. It was horrible." Emerald explained, closing her eyes and resting her head on my shoulder.

We'd been sat on the uncomfortable hospital bed for about an hour watching some random game show on the tiny TV in the room. I was silently praying that she wouldn't bring up the fact that I had told her that I loved her earlier.

I honestly think she was about to but I was saved by the door opening and a doctor walking into the room. The two of us sat up so that we could listen to what the doctor had to say about Emerald's health.

"Miss. McReary, how are you feeling?" The doctor smiled warmly at Emerald.

"I feel worse now that you called me that." She scoffed.

"Sorry, it won't happen again. Have you had any stomach pains?" The doctor apologised.

"Nope." Emerald smiled.

"That's good. Not only did we have to pump your stomach because of the amount of alcohol you consumed but your liver is very damaged. Your lungs are quite damaged too, your friends said that you smoked quite heavily." The doctor explained.

"Right, so what does that mean?" Emerald asked.

"We're going to put you into a rehab for minors with addictions to narcotics and we'd also recommend going to a few group or private therapy sessions to help understand why you turned to the alcohol and the smoking in the first place."

"I don't need therapy, I'm not crazy." Emerald argued.

"I'm not implying that you are. People who drink heavily tend to have a reason for why they drink so much, it can be a break up or someone close to them may have passed away. It'd really help your recovery from your addictions if you knew why exactly you rely on alcohol so much." The doctor sat down on one of the chairs by Emerald's bed.

"I'd also recommend you take a break from your band. You can still write and record your music but no touring or shows until you've fully recovered."

Emerald sighed and nodded in understanding, probably realising there was no point in arguing with the doctor. In all honesty, I agreed with him. I knew why Emerald drank but she was in denial about it, she thought she drank for the fun of it.

It was really because her father didn't care for her and she wanted to ease the pain. I wanted her to stop and get better. Hopefully, ending up in hospital would open her eyes to this and she'd realise that she needed to get better. At this point I think rehab and therapy is the only thing that would help her.
