ISAAC'S POV::

It was finally Friday, the day I had been waiting for. I don't think I'd ever been this excited for something. I was seeing Emerald's band tonight and I was glad that I'd finally be able to put a melody to the lyrics I'd been reading.

Pretty much all of the lyrics were written by Emerald and they all told amazing stories. Some of them were her own stories and some were the stories of others yet they all were written in the same enchanting cursive handwriting.

I honestly had no idea what to wear but I knew I didn't want to stand out. So I decided on a pair of black skinny jeans and a long sleeved black button down with a pair of black converse.

I had to get down to the O2 Academy by half 6 as they opened the doors to let people in at 7 and I was allowed in early because I was a 'performer's guest'.

I grabbed my phone and gave myself one final once over in the mirror. Deeming myself acceptable I jogged down the stairs and grabbed my skateboard before walking out the door, yelling a goodbye to my mum.

The show was finally starting and Emerald's band was beginning to come on stage. Judging by the screams that sounded around the room when they jumped out on stage I guessed they were more famous than I thought they were.

Emerald looked totally different tonight. Instead of the usual smart school uniform we were forced to wear she had a ripped band shirt that she'd clearly cut up to be a muscle tank and it came down to her mid thigh. I was pretty sure she was wearing shorts under it and her hair was messier than it usually was.

She definitely had heels on too because she looked taller than she normally did and her makeup was a lot heavier as well. As I listened to the lyrics I realised it was one of the songs she'd written recently that she told me about called 'Kick Me'.

"Keep looking down on me, I am more than you'll ever be!" Her voice seemed different as she sang, more energetic and happy.

I watched as she danced around on the stage and came to the conclusion that she belonged there. She jumped around and communicated with the large crowd, singing high notes so perfectly and effortlessly it seemed almost angelic if you didn't listen to the curse words she was spitting out.

The song quickly transitioned into the next one, the whole song changing from something angry to something more happy and upbeat. The change in sound was shocking enough but I was even more surprised to see the head boy of Clairemont Academy, Matty Mullins jump out on stage and start singing with Emerald.

By the way they were acting on stage you could tell they were close friends, joking around and shoving each other as they sung the lyrics.

"Congratulations, they say you're that man." Matty's low voice blended into Emerald's high one perfectly as they sang the chorus together.

Her eyes began to scan the crowd and they finally landed on me, cheering her on. She looked at me until the chorus ended and Matty began singing his verse and all the attention was on him before she grinned widely and winked at me.
