EMERALD'S POV::
"Oh, by the way, I found a video of you playing piano and singing last night and you're actually pretty damn good." I smiled.
I watched as his eyes widened slightly before he ducked his head down, a bright red blush growing on his cheeks.
"Aw, don't be embarrassed. Your voice is great." I complimented, resting my hand on his shoulder.
"Whatever, I'm coming to this gig of yours too. I wanna see you guys." He hurriedly changed the subject.
"I mean, if you want to you can but like I said, I dunno if it'd be your scene." I shrugged.
"I'll just put on some eyeliner and spike my hair up, I'll be fine." He laughed.
"That could be like really offensive to be completely honest with you. Like, no one who comes to our concerts looks like that." I chuckled.
Isaac shrugged but said nothing more, looking down at the book in his hands. He flipped through some of the pages, reading the random lyrics and looking at doodles that were dotted sporadically around the page.
I pulled out a packet of cigarettes form my blazer pocket along with my lighter before speaking up, "Do you mind if I smoke?"
"No."
"Sound." I replied, placing a cigarette between my lips before lighting it and inhaling the smoke.
I blew the smoke out in a large sigh before saying, "What do you wanna do when you're older then?"
"I wanna be a musician too, just not the same genre as you." He said.
"Not a sell-out pop artist right?" I winced.
"Of course not." Isaac scoffed.
I sighed in relief and opened my mouth to reply but was cut off by the school bell ringing. Isaac stood up and grabbed his bag from the ground. He was about to begin walking away before I grabbed his wrist, stopping him.
"Skip with me? Geography's always sh*t." I smiled.
"Alright, not like I really need to know how a volcano works." He shrugged, sitting back down.
I smiled and picked a few daisies that littered the floor, looping them through each other to start making a daisy chain.
"Where did this whole 'bad girl' image come from then?" Isaac suddenly spoke up.
I laughed quietly to myself before saying, "Honestly I have no clue. I've always dressed the way I do and done my makeup this way but then I started hanging with Kellin and Ronnie more often and now everyone seems to think I'm this tough b*tch."
"So, if I were to hit you, you wouldn't fight back?" He frowned.
"No. I'd probably run away, I can't throw a punch to save my life. I severely lack hand-eye co-ordination." I joked.
"Wow. I've never really thought about this before, but it's strange how dressing a certain way can determine someone's thoughts of you." Isaac sighed.
"I don't think it is to be honest. Like, if some guy came up to you in a blood-soaked shirt with sweat stains and a matted beard you wouldn't exactly hug him and share your life story with him." I furrowed my brow.
"Whatever, you understood what I meant." He laughed.
I laughed slightly before the two of us fell silent again and I went back to making this daisy chain that had now turned into a crown. I wasn't exactly feeling like wearing a damn flower crown so I picked it up gently and rested it on top of Isaac's dark brown hair.
I fiddled with my fingers nervously as he smiled and looked up at me, our eyes meeting. Before I could stop and think about what I was doing I leaned forward and pressed our lips together, closing my eyes and cupping his cheek with my hand.
