"Seonghwa?" I knocked on the bathroom door "Can you open the door?" I said slowly fidgeting on my feet as the door opened and I entered inside, seating next to him, on the edge of the bathtub.
"What do you want?" His voice was soft, holding a certain sadness I never thought I'll hear ever again coming from him. The only time I heard him this sad was when he cut my hair with some scissors and I cried for a whole day in grandma's bedroom while we were on vacation there. He was the one who apologized back then, but I know that now it's my turn.
"I'm sorry for what happened with Yunho" I said slowly swallowing the lump forming in my throat "Whatever JiJi. I'll just leave tomorrow and give you two the privacy you deserve" He sighed a shaky breath.
"He's just-he's missing his family a lot, Mars" His eyes shoot open at me, turning into crescents as he smiled "You haven't called me Mars since we were kids" His smile turned into a pained one "I know" I sighed "And I won't start again, so get that out of your head. I just want to apologize for what happened and for his behavior" I hesitated a little before grabbing his hand in mine, stroking it slowly.
This feels weird. Us talking normally, even touching.
"I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have talked to him the way I did, but...you know I don't actually mean what I say, right?" He looked at me curiously as if searching the right answer for him. "Of course I know, that's what we do. We hate each other mutually, but deep down we are family and I-I care about you" My cheeks reddened as I giggled awkwardly.
"I care about you too..." He whispered looking elsewhere. "This is the part where we say we love each other and hug?" I looked at him as he turned his eyes back at me. "No" We both said at unison as we bursted out laughing.

"Mars" I shouted next to the open door "We're going out tonight, I left you some pizza money" I felt weird calling him by his childhood nickname, even though I said I won't do it. "Ok, JiJi" He hesitated for a second "T-Thank you" I heard him stutter as I closed the door behind us, smiling.
"See? He can be nice, when he wants to. You don't have to strangle him to death for that" I looked at Yunho who's cheeks reddened "Sorry" He muttered as we exited the building and got in the car.
"Ok, so-" I cleared my voice after twenty minutes of driving "Do you have any idea where your necklace-wings-whatever thingy might be?" I asked turning my face slightly at him. "Somewhere in the woods probably" He said slowly looking out the window, pinching his lips. He seemed to be in deep thoughts and I stayed silent in my seat until we arrived there.
I parked the car on the side of the road and stepped out of it with a heavy heart. This is where I found him, the memory being still fresh in my mind. The way the drops of rain were soaking in his clothes, dripping on his face, the way his blonde hair was covering his eyes and I brushed it aside. The way my heart stopped when I thought he's dead.
He walked in the middle of the road looking at it, his gaze lazily meeting mine. I smiled awkwardly walking next to him, rubbing my arms as shivers of cold were settling on my skin. I did not bring a jacket with me, great.
"Should we split up? I'll go to the left while you take the right" I said slowly, the wind blowing through my hair along with the grey sky signaling me that it's probably going to rain soon. I wanted to suggest him to turn back home, but how could I when desperation was covering his face now?
"I don't think it's a good idea. How can we find each other after-WATCH OUT!" He pulled my arm fast with him as his back collided with my car, hissing in pain. I haven't even noticed the car speed driving towards us as my mind was fogged with thoughts about him.
Two idiots on a road, what did we think it'll happen? I almost laughed at our stupidity before I realized he was still holding me tight and I was still resting my entire body on his. I looked up at his soft eyes. I don't want you to go. A thought that, again, never left my lips. We straightened ourselves smiling awkwardly at each other.
"Look, you fell right in this spot, so the necklace has to be somewhere around this area right? We'll split up covering more ground, meeting back at the car in one hour ok? We can shout at each other to make sure where still close in the area. It's stupid, but I don't have another idea" I took a deep breath looking at the ground, rolling a rock back and forth with my foot.
"It's a good plan Jia. Let's go" He turned around walking to the right side of the forest. My gaze lingered on his figure for a second longer before stepping foot on the street again.
I was about to cross the road on my side when I felt a material brushing against my skin. He placed his jacket on my shoulders without saying a word, and I didn't even turned back to thank him. All I did was walk forward with my head tilted down to the ground, holding my tears in.
What is wrong with me? Was I under his spell?
