𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐓 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐍𝐎𝐈𝐒𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐎𝐑 𝐖𝐀𝐒 the only rhythm Scarlet Cristela picked up on upon opening her eyes. It rang and caused a hollow ache in her ears. The monitor signaled she was indeed alive and was not rotting in the artificial jungle that was the arena.

There were words sounding from a few meters away, muffled and drowned out. Only the outline of the words could be hurt as audible hums, blend together into one fading melody. Her eyes were in small slits, slowly peeling open with confusion pounding on them and a tremendous ache.

There was light coming from somewhere, but with every little second her mind was turning with tiny slips of reconnaissance, and soon, she realized her head was pounding. So first, she'd heard the voices, and then there was a streak of light in a big golden fog, and now her head had a heartbeat. Then she could suddenly hear that heartbeat in her ears.

She sat up, feeling the ugly tickle of her hair sticking to the sweat on her forehead. Her shoulder was wrapped in a white bandage, the pillows felt softer than her own ones. She shot up upon taking in the unfamiliar surrounding. Her chest rose and fell in a rapid manner as she jolted out of the bed.

"Finnick!" Scarlet cried, pushing through the white doors roughly. She saw the back of his head, the head full of fluffy blonde hair that she so adored. The world shifted the moment she laid eyes on him. He was always able to do that, make the air around them fluctuate with just his presence━sucking out all the air left in her lungs.

All eyes were on her.

"You're awake," Finnick turned to chuckle, "You're okay, you're okay." Relief flooded his heart. He glanced at her with that look. Looking absolutely astonished by her beauty as if this was the first time he's seen her. As if she were a work of art━glided and inlaid with gold.

Scarlet didn't spare anyone else in the room any glances before running into Finnick's arms as he pulled her into a tight embrace, she held his head tight, "You're okay." She repeated his words, holding onto him tightly. She missed that warmth, the feeling of safety for far too long.

As though if she let go, he might be gone forever. But he was safe. Her Finnick was safe and the smile on his face didn't seem to alter. The way his eyes softened was excruciating.

She urgently pulled away and laid her eyes on Chiara and Haymitch who sat on the tools on the other side of the table. Chiara sent her a faint smile but Scarlet didn't seem to reciprocate. "Was everyone saved?"
