𝐖𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐒𝐓 𝐂𝐎𝐈𝐍 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐓𝐎𝐎 𝐄𝐗𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐓, Plutarch disobeyed the President by throwing more pearls and candles onto the decoration. Soft music overwhelmed the air, and Scarlet was in a light-sapphire satin gown──flowy like a summer dress──that covered every part of her skin; long sleeves, and high neck, keeping her scars and burn marks away from the crowd's eyes. Not that she paid attention to her indecent skin, tonight was not about her scars but rather the stars Finnick Odair drew around them.

He truly did ── ease the heaviness pressing against her chest. Remove the rubble crumbling and caving into her lungs. Finnick was like a beacon of light, pulsating through a blanket of murky fog drifting into the hollow night. A symbol of hope. What came on the other side of grief and anguish, was almost unreachable. And overcoming was the first step to reaching it.

To the world, Katniss Everdeen was the hope. To Scarlet, it was Finnick. Well, and Katniss considering the teen is leading a rebellion, she too gets a bit of credit for Scarlet's anticipated solace.

This was her home, no, not the ugly and hollow walls of thirteen where the air seemed contaminated and the water tasted weird ── home does not have to be made of bricks and wall-paint and furniture, home could be a person.

And Finnick was Scarlet's that person.

The brunette girl remembered every bit of the night Finnick asked her to marry her, every memory protected like pieces of diamonds.

"Marry me?" Asked Finnick with a sweet tone, gentle and caring, and a little hesitant to see her reaction. It came out of batshit nowhere, given which Scarlet's next exclaimed word was justified.

"WHAT?"

"Marry me," Finnick nodded more confidently. "I would get on one knee but I don't even have a ring."

Scarlet ignored the way her heart flapped about, "You can't ask me to marry you without a ring, pretty boy." Finnick grinned at the mischief in her tone, and she placed a hand on his chest softly, not liking the idea of pulling away from him.

"I want whatever we have to be a promise. A promise of forever. After all this time, I can't pretend that waiting is what I want; I want you, Scarlet. I want to lead a normal life with you ── one where we get married and live together like any other normal people."
