A Split Between Mind&Soul

Chapter 4

When Kendall walked into the Washington's home she couldn't help but be impressed. It was all so elegant and classy. When Mrs. Washington walked into the room Kendall stood in pure shock. "STEPHANIE!" "OMG KENDALL! It's been so long, how is everything", replied Stephanie. Just to back track Kendall and Stephanie went to school together and let's just say Stephanie wasn't the nicest girl in the school. Kendall remembers so many incidents where Stephanie tormented her. She couldn't help but smirk at the thought of someone threatening her, especially if she still has the same attitude she did then.

"Well I'm fine but how are you", Kendall asked seeing as though Stephanie looked a little shaken up. Stephanie didn't say anything she just gave Kendall the note. It read: Watch your back; you don't want to get stabbed! "That was the first one but when the second one came it was like a gut feeling telling me that this person meant business", said Stephanie. "Well what did it say", replied Kendall. Stephanie took a deep breath and said the exact words, "Because my hearts broken, I'll just take yours." Kendall with shocked eyes tried to put two and two together. She needed to ask a question but was afraid about the reaction. "Steph, before you and Mayor Washington got together was he involved with anyone?" Surprisingly Stephanie was not upset, and replied with a simple no. 

Stephanie knew what came with marrying the Mayor and it didn't help that they were 10 years apart in age. But you can't help who you fall in love with. She knew from the moment she saw him sitting in that restaurant, that was wanted to pursue. It was something about his smile, charm and swag. He wore a fitted navy blue Dolce suite with a black tie. He had on black Gucci loafers and his waves made her head spin. How could a man look this fine at 40 years old was beyond her. But it wasn't until he looked her way that she knew she had to have him. From the looks of things he needed her as well. He got up from his table walked over to her and kissed her hand. Then proceed to get both his and her bills, paid and tipped the waiters and walked her to his car. Doing 80 in the fast lane on the freeway, there was no words for what they were about to do, she just closed her eyes and enjoyed the ride. 

They got back to his home and went straight to the bedroom, every touch and kiss was so strong. It caused her to go weak but yet she yearned for me. Before that night she never knew what making love felt like. Lovemaking that actually caused her to shed a tear. It was as if he was made for her and she was made for him. After that night they were inseparable, attached at the hip. 4 months later they exchanged vows, 3 months after that he won the mayoral elections. And now she has never felt more alone.

The sound of Kendall calling Stephanie's name is what brought her out of her daydream. Stephanie smiled at Kendall and stated,"If you need any other information please don't hesitate to ask, I'll be upstairs laying down." Kendall nodded with understanding and with that she thanked Stephanie for the information and said that she will keep in touch.
