chp. 10
"What do you want to eat?" Yuna asked the writer as she wrapped an apron around her waist, looking at the other expectantly.
It had only turned night time not too long after they retreated from their small little vacation, and Chaeryeong expressed her hunger the moment they stepped in the house, which lead to Yuna taking action.
Surprisingly, she didn't order any food.
"You're cooking?" Chaeryeong answered with a question, a small smile playing on her lips. She got on one of the white stools by the middle island.
Yuna glanced at her, her expression filled with determination. "Of course I am. I can cook anything, you know?" She replied with a fiery glint in her eyes, as if she was proposing a challenge.
Chaeryeong chuckled softly, knowing full well that Yuna was known for her determination and competitive spirit. She was intrigued to see what her wife would whip up in the kitchen.
"Well then, I'm excited to see what you can create," Chaeryeong said, leaning her chin on her hand, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
Yuna grinned mischievously, as if she had just accepted a dare. She swiftly moved around the kitchen, opening cabinets and pulling out various ingredients and utensils. The aroma of herbs and spices filled the air as she expertly chopped vegetables and seasoned a piece of meat.
Chaeryeong watched in awe as Yuna's movements were both graceful and precise. There was a certain elegance in the way she handled the ingredients, as if she were conducting a symphony with her culinary skills.
Soon enough, the kitchen was filled with the sizzling sounds of the dish coming together. Yuna skillfully flipped the meat on the pan, the caramelization adding a rich aroma to the already tantalizing scent. The enticing smell made Chaeryeong's mouth water, and her stomach growled impatiently.
After what seemed like mere minutes, Yuna presented a beautifully plated dish in front of Chaeryeong. The vibrant colors, tantalizing aromas, and the skillful arrangement of flavors made it clear that Yuna's cooking prowess was not to be underestimated.
Chaeryeong took a moment to appreciate the sight before her, then she took a bite of the dish, her taste buds instantly delighted by the explosion of flavors.
"Wow," Chaeryeong uttered, her eyebrows raising in surprise and satisfaction, nodding repeatedly. "This is amazing, Yuna. You should've been a chef too."
They both chuckled.
Yuna shaking her head, "That would be too much work. I'm glad you like it though," she responded, a proud and rare smile across her face. Chaeryeong took her time taking in the sight before her, making sure this moment would be imprinted in her mind forever.
"Chaeryeong, you eat messy," Yuna snorted, causing confusion among the writer's expression. And before Chaeryeong could react, the model reached over the counter, her thumb wiping her bottom lip slowly.
Yuna's mischievous smirk widened as she noticed the bewilderment on Chaeryeong's face. With deliberate slowness, she extended her arm, her thumb gently tracing the contour of Chaeryeong's bottom lip, wiping away a stray morsel of food.
Chaeryeong's cheeks flushed at the unexpected gesture, her eyes locked with Yuna's. Her heart skipped a beat as she felt a surge of warmth spread through her.
"Yuna..." Chaeryeong's voice came out as a soft whisper, her breath slightly hitched.
Yuna withdrew her hand, her eyes glimmering with a mix of playfulness and tenderness. "You're too precious to have food stains on your lips," she said, her voice came out in a whisper, something that Chaeryeong nearly missed if it wasn't for the silence.
