chp. 41
Today, Chaeryeong took the day off.
It had been such a hectic month, and despite the amount of rest she had on her honeymoon, fatigue still remained within her. Although, it wasn't caused by work nor her sleep schedule. It was mainly caused by the lack of time.
Yuna had no idea that she took the day off. In fact, the model thought that it would be a normal day in this chaotic month for the both of them.
And with that assumption alone, surprise was bound to get her.
Now strolling through her wife's well-secured company, Chaeryeong wore a smile on her face and held a thermos of Yuna's favourite; cinnamon tea, with caramel creamer added.
But as she exited the elevator of her wife's exclusive floor, an enormous mountain had appeared in front of her.
"Miss, I believe that you do not have the permission to access this floor," the man placed a hand in the air, halting the writer in her steps.
Chaeryeong chuckled. "I don't need one."
"I'm afraid you do miss. You cannot advance further without an appointment nor permission. I did not receive any calls from the reception of your arrival." The guard then cleared his throat, his demeanour suddenly shifting.
His gaze flickered up and down, a small smirk tugging at the corner of his lips, especially after lingering at her exposed legs. "I can let you go if we work something out though."
'Should I have taken the day off?'
Shocked, Chaeryeong had the sudden urge to back up into the elevator, and call up her wife to inform her of such occurrence. But before she could do so, a clear of a throat had caught both their attentions.
"Jihoon-ah," a firm voice said, added with a sigh. The guard instantly tensed up, his expression now alarmed. "Do I not pay you enough? Maybe too much? What's wrong?"
A smile flashed across Chaeryeong's face as Yuna appeared behind him, her mouth near his ear as her gaze carried a sense of fury and murder.
"Mrs. Shin, this woman was trespassing the-"
Yuna cursed under her breath, cutting the guard off as her hand landed on his right shoulder. She began to click her tongue repeatedly. "This woman is my wife, Jihoon."
The guard's eyes widened, his mouth slammed close. "I deeply apologize, Mrs. Shin. I wasn't aware of the fact that-"
Yuna waved him off with a mocking chuckle. "Do me a favour." Her hands flew to his blazer, tugging on the collars gently before she wiped off the non-existent dust. "Pack up your things and go. You've done enough." Then, she shot him a pointed look, hands in her pockets. "No excuses."
Without a moment of hesitation, the guard fled, his head down as he walked through the floor.
Chaeryeong clapped with a huge grin, nudging her wife with her elbow. "Way to save the day, superhero."
As the actress turned around and met the writer's gaze, her cold expression had melted into something Chaeryeong was now familiar with; warmth and affection.
"Baby!" Yuna embraced her before mumbling into her hair. "What brought you here? You should have given me a heads up."
Chuckling, Chaeryeong patted the woman's back lightly before pulling back. "It was a surprise. But I think I'm the one who was more surprised in this situation."
Yuna hummed as she pursed her lips, swaying them from side to side. "I'm sorry about that. I thought I was good at hiring people, but it seems like that wasn't the case."
