chp. 42
Yuna coughed heavily, causing her chest to ache by the intensity of the cough. She wasn't pleased. It was the first few hours of the day and despite the cold weather, she was having a decently relaxing day. However, it seemed as if her immune system was playing with her today, because she had never felt so weak.
Which was why she also took the day off in advance, knowing that this would happen due to her throat hurting the day before.
Her wife was at work, completely unaware of her condition as Yuna never stated her inner concerns or symptoms since she didn't want to worry the writer.
Yuna doesn't regret it, at least not yet. She knew that Chaeryeong would definitely scold her and be even more worried about her the second she found out. And truthfully? That didn't sound so good. Because when Chaeryeong gets mad, it comes with certain punishments that makes Yuna learn her lesson.
Example: No kisses for two weeks.
Oh how frustrating that was.
Pushing aside her worries for now, Yuna made her way into the kitchen to make herbal tea for herself. It was the least she could do rather than lay in bed all day waiting for the cold to pass. But in the process of making herself tea, she accidentally spilled half the cup with one wrong movement.
Yuna immediately hissed when the extremely hot liquid hit her other hand, then proceeded to seep through her sweatpants that she thought were thicker.
Now with the liquid dripping down the counter and onto the wooden flooring, Yuna grew panicked and began to gather paper towels, cleaning up the mess she clumsily made.
She really wished Chaeryeong was here right now.
After the quick clean, Yuna exhaled and leaned back against the counter, eyeing the half empty cup of herbal tea sitting innocently on the counter. She contemplated whether or not she should drink it now, as she had just cleaned the bacteria out of her and gained a small scar, marking her burn from earlier.
In short, Yuna was scared.
She was too tough to admit it though.
It took her a while to muster up the courage to hold the warm cup, bringing it to her living room coffee table with the utmost care. She wouldn't dare imagine it spilling over her grey carpet.
Turning on the TV, hours passed by with every episode, and the worse Yuna's condition got. The herbal tea did wonders, don't get her wrong, and she doesn't know why it didn't stay that way.
One hour, she was finally feeling better, but then the next, she was feeling even worser than before.
Yuna let out a loud groan at the aching of her head, accidentally forcing a cough out of her. She sighed and stared into the abyss.
Regret built up in her mind as she remembered the words of her wife a few days before.
"It's cold out, just cancel it, Yuna."
Instead of listening to her concerned wife, Yuna brushed it off and claimed that the weather would turn up when she got to the venue.
It didn't.
It even began to drizzle before she even got on the runway, but Yuna had so much faith in the weather that she was hit with a big rock of disappointment once she got off the runway, her hair had completely flattened. It was probably one of the worst modelling event she had gone to in her whole career.
Now, Yuna was suffering the consequences of not listening to her wife.
As she was lost in her thoughts, Yuna missed the sound of the front door opening and closing, completely indulged in her regrets. It was then when a particular raven-haired ran over to her that she finally realized that her wife, who she was just thinking about, was present.
