chp. 29

It had been hours after Chaeryeong's friend group had arrived, and so far?

It was... messy.

Everyone got along, of course. That wasn't the problem. However, the house was a lot more chaotic than usual, and even if that seemed impossible to Chaeryeong, it was proven possible by the addition of her own group of friends.

Sometimes, she regretted inviting them.

Especially when she had lemonade spilled all over her.

"Ah!" Chaeryeong yelped out of sheer shock, the cold liquid making contact with her warm skin. Beomgyu had bumped into her whilst running away from Heesung, as they were just having a friendly fight in the kitchen.

"Oh sh— I'm sorry!" Beomgyu exclaimed and quickly placed his cup on the counter beside her, frantically grabbing a whole roll of paper towels, tearing a few sheets off before handing some to her and keeping some for himself.

"It's fine," Chaeryeong smiled assuringly and began to wipe her top, the cold lemonade starting to seep through her sweatpants.

"Chaeryeong? What happened?" Heesung butted in, surprised by the sudden mess on the marble kitchen floor and his best friend's wet clothes. He noticed Beomgyu wiping away the spilled liquid. "Beomgyu?"

"He bumped into me," Chaeryeong explained briefly, her attention fixed on her wet shirt sticking to her body.

Heesung didn't reply and snatched a few paper towels, helping Chaeryeong with her situation.

After a few moments of wiping, Chaeryeong was a little better than before. Still feeling sticky, but better.

Heesung sighed as he gave a once-over on the writer's outfit, chewing his lip thoughtfully before he took off his sweater, handing it to her. "You can change into this, it'll be more comfortable than the lemonade-soaked shirt you've got."

Chaeryeong chuckled at his words and gratefully accepted his sweater, not thinking too much about it. Since he was still her best friend, it wouldn't be a problem. And friends help each other, right?

Soon, she walked out of the bathroom with Heesung's sweater on and her dirty top draped over her forearm, she felt way more comfortable and not as sticky anymore. The feeling was still there, but it was better than wearing her drenched shirt.

The raven-haired writer was on her way to the laundry room near the pantry when she suddenly bumped into another person, thankfully they weren't carrying any drinks or food.

"Babe?" Yuna's voice caused her head to snap upwards, meeting her brown orbs with a small smile.

"Hi! Done with your soccer game?" Chaeryeong asked. The model was previously in their backyard playing sports with her friends, and Chaeryeong had came to the conclusion that the girl just came back due to the sweat beads rolling down her forehead.

"Yeah! It was fun, you should've seen Jungwoo getting smacked with the ball," Yuna snorted, replaying the memory before her gaze fell to the unfamiliar sweater her fiancée was wearing.

That wasn't hers, and it sure wasn't Chaeryeong's either.

"Um..." Yuna raised a suspicious brow. "New sweater?"

"Oh, it's Heesung's," Chaeryeong nonchalantly replied, then cursed in her mind when she remembered that Yuna didn't exactly favour the guy.

"Why are you wearing his sweater?" Yuna asked in an accusing tone, her eyebrows slowly meeting in the middle.
