Adam

Today was the day, this is all finally happening.

Adam thought with his hand running through his hair as he paced through out the room.

What if the girl actually liked him? What if she said yes even after him telling her that he would never be able to love her?

"Adam, are you ready to go?" Adam heard his uncle's voice across the hall.

"No" he shouted back.

He was not ready at all.

His uncle entered the room and looked over at Adam, making Adam give him a nervous half smile.

Ali sat down and gestured to him to sit as well.

When Adam sat next to him, Ali squeezed his shoulder before starting to speak.

"You know I won't force you to marry anyone, that's not how it works. I am just introducing you to someone and it's your choice if you want to marry or not. I am only trying to help you, I hope you understand that. I know how much you love Lucy Adam and I know it's hard to let go of her, but you can't just continue living your life like this forever. It's been six hard years but I think it's time to move on now." Ali smiled softly at Adam, making Adam smile in return to.

His uncle is right, it has been really six hard years, and maybe it really is time to move on, to start a new life.

But just as Adam thought that, a torturous image of Lucy in bed ,sick, came into his mind. Her asking him to move on and love again, to start a new life. Her voice hoarse and begging.

Adam closed his eyes tightly as his eyes started to water.

"But what if I can't love again? What if I won't be able to serve rightfully to that girl?"

Ali held Adam tightly to his side.

"You can try my son, and Allah will do the rest."

Adam gave a shaky nod and a wavering smile to his uncle.

His uncle is right he should try. That's the least he could do. He will do as planned he will tell the girl that he could never love her, not like the way she would want anyway.

And as Adam stared at the ground he made up his mind. He will say yes to her, whoever she is. But if she doesn't want him then that's another story.

So he turned around and looked over to his uncle by his side, his uncle the one who never left Adam. Who always stood by his side through rough and good times.

Adam gave Ali a small smile and whispered, "I agree, no matter who she is I agree to marry her."

"Adam you can't say that now, what if you don't like her? You have to wait and think about it then decide." Ali tried reasoning with him.

"No, I have made my decision, I will marry that girl that you have chosen for me uncle, I will marry her without any objection." Adam said to his uncle, his mind made up already.

"Thank you for your trust son, but I still think that you shouldn't decide so quickly. You have complete freedom of choosing the one you want to marry and I don't want you to choose because of me." Ali requested.
