Farida

"Oh my Allah is this really you?" Nurse Eman said in disbelief and Farida gave her a nod in return. It was all she could manage.

Farida herself could not believe that it was nurse Eman.

Her black hijab was put tightly around her head with her small fragile body in the nurse's uniform.

Her face hadn't changed much. But Farida still could detect the small wrinkles around her eyes.

"I can't believe it's you." Eman exclaimed moving closer to Farida and giving her a hug.

Farida was hit with the familiarity of her scent.

She smiled hugging her back as tight as her cast and aching body willed her.

A few tears streamed down her face and Farida heard Eman sniffle,no doubt on tears too.

Eman pulled away from the hug and testing her hand on Farida's cheek. "Oh Allah, how long has it been. Five, six years?"

"Seven." Farida mumbled her lips itching upwards.

She couldn't believe it's been this long since they have last seen each other.

"Seven years." Eman repeated breathlessly.

"Yeah. I can't believe it too." Farida told her, staring back at Eman.

"Oh honey, what happened to you?" Eman said suddenly realizing Farida's situation.

"I got into a car accident." Farida replied.

"Oh of course you would get into a car accident. You have always not been careful about your well being and being this clumsy doesn't help." Eman said jokingly a glint evident in her eyes.

"Oh come on. I'm not that clumsy. I just didn't see the car before it was too late." Farida tried to defend herself.

Eman gave her a pointed look.

"Okay maybe you are right I am a bit clumsy." Farida admitted.

"A bit?" Eman raised her yes rows at her.

"Yes." Farida nodded firmly.

"Sure then who was the person who always bumped in my nursing cart and also who was the person who always knocked down the lamp next to Muna's bed. And of course lets not forget your amazing colorful words whenever you stumbled your toe to Muna's bed." Eman said smirking down at her.

"Hey that wasn't my fault. Hitting my toe with Muna's bed, it was the bed's fault. It was put in a wrong angle." Farida whined.

Eman's eyes were met with Farida's and they both turned silent.

Muna.

"I miss her." Eman mumbled lowly next to her, squeezing Farida's hand.

"Me too." Farida whispered softly.

They sat in silence then until a throat cleaning cut it.

"Yes?" Farida looked over at Adam who was just standing there the whole time.

His face was a mix of confusion and amusement.

Farida broke from her state with Eman, "Eman this is my husband, Adam." She gestured to Adam. She was about to introduce Adam to Eman too before she cut off Farida.
