Farida

Farida looked over herself. She didn't look bad. In fact she looked beautiful.

Her gown like wedding dress fitting her perfectly, she was covered in a hijab with the wedding veil.

She only wore a light make up on. Salma had done it sometimes ago.

Her mother tried to convince her to go to a salon but she insisted that Salma was good enough.

Farida stared at her reflection. She had the eyes of her dad only a shade lighter. Her eyebrows were thick but not too much.

She smiled nervously in the mirror.

She heard a sniffle behind her and turned around.

Halima stood there sniffling on a tissue.

Farida smiled at her mother. "Ma don't cry."

"I am crying because you look so beautiful mashallah. I'm so proud of you." Farida grins and stomps to her mother, so she could give her a hug.

"But I wish your husband sees you like I do." Halima continues and Farida stops mid-step.

She swallowed the lump on her throat that just formed.

"He will mama." She replied lightly and continued her steps to give her mother a hug.

"I wish my girl, I wish. I will miss you that's for sure." Halima whispered to her breaking the hug.

"I will miss you too." Farida mumbled.

"Yalla habibiti(dear) lets go everyone is waiting for you." Halima said and helped Farida walk down.

As she reached their back yard she looked around and saw it packed with people.

Her place was in the middle of the garden with Adam's next to hers.

She took her place as everyone cheered. And a few seconds later Adam walked in as well dressed in his suit.

He looked so beautiful. His hair was pulled back neatly instead of the messy morning head he always had. He walked towards her and smiled down. She smiled back at him.

Adam's eyes went dark and suddenly his eyes weren't smiling. They were far away. And once again he gave her a look of hatred but this time it was also mixed with confusion.

Farida stared back. Not understanding the change in him.

Adam just stared at her frozen until Farida's mom pushed him towards her.

He stumble a few steps before taking his place next to her.

She looked over at him carefully. Not sure about his next reaction.

But she was surprised when he gave her a nervous smile.

Farida was taken by surprise. She was amazed at his mood changes.

She gave him a smile of her own.

"You look pretty." Adam blurted out.

Farida's cheeks went red and looked down.
