DOCTORS POV

I stood on the step for a bit in shock, to be honest I knew this reaction would come. I can't believe how much she had matured in the years of my, accidental absence. I actually was unsure of what to do. I returned to the TARDIS to hear the voice of my thoughts in my head.

See? That plan didn't work now did it?

"Well that's a bit obvious now isn't it?"

I told you. I warned you.

" Oh don't start that, sexy! I need to think." I pulled a lever and held onto th consol as I landed in another place. A park. Why a park?

I shrug it off sadly, going out to the busy park, and bright sun, finding myself drawn to a swing. I took a seat there and rubbed at my eyes as time passed. I don't know how long it had been, when-

"Are you okay mister?" a little girls voice cut off my train of thought. Too stunned to form a reply, I stare at her, shocked by this little girl. She wore shorts and a red shirt with a dark blue vest that matched those ribbons in her hair. Her innocent curly pigtails bounced as she shifted on her feet. She was pale and thin as a rail, but all around fragile and innocent. She had sat on the swing to my right, "When did you- Wait what?"

"Are you ok? You seem sad." She repeated. Her accent very American.

I felt, like I knew her, like I could trust her and suddenly found the words leaving my mouth without much thought."Oh, I am just different now and my friend- She just doesn't understand. Why are you talking to a stranger little girl?"

"Well I'm sure your friend would understand if you explain why, and they'd probably still like you even if you're not the same. And I dunno, on a TV show they said strangers are just friends you haven't met yet, whatever that means. You just seemed sad."

I chuckled at the childishness and involuntarily smiled a little, "You remind me of her," a woman, holding ice cream stood across the playground, waving to the girl, so I point her out. "Uh, I think that woman is trying to flag you over."

The girl left, skipping off ever so innocent, and I stand leaving. Those words of advice stuck in my head. I will earn your trust again, don't worry Izzy, Daddy is coming. I won't give up on you without a fight.
