- ONE MONTH LATER-

It's been about a month living with the Doctor. I still have nightmares but not as often. The Doctor and I have grown rather close, and we know a lot about one another. I know that he's an alien from a planet called Gallifrey and that he lives in a ship (that's alive!) and it's called the TARDIS. He loves books and once he'd discovered I couldn't read or write, he began to teach me. I still struggle with reading but I'm rather good at writing. I do mix up my D's and B's, as well as M's and W's. The Doctor thinks i have something called Dyslexia- whatever that is, but basically he said I need practice. I am also learning to swim, rather slowly. But I really like it here!

-NEXT YEAR-

I walked into the kitchen expecting to find the over perky Doctor with breakfast or a cup of tea, but there was no sign of hi. I walked into the console room, figuring he would be fixing something or messing with the controls but he wasn't there either. "Where the heck is he?" I muttered under my breath. Over the last year I had picked up a bit of the Doctor's voice, like his accent and his little quirks and remarks. I had become rather snappy, smart and observant. I noticed a note taped to the screen on the console. It read:

Dear Izzy,

Sorry about bolting out this morning- there was some trouble that needed resolving. If you're hungry, there's a sandwich in the fridge, top shelf. Just relax and do what you like until I come back.

Sincerely,

The Doctor.

His handwriting was rushed and the ink was smeared on some words, but it was readable. I decided to explore the TARDIS. I grabbed the sandwich, and headed down the halls coming to many unknown rooms. Some were locked, some looked mechanical, and some were just really strange. I walked to a tech-ish door that said something in an alien language that the TARDIS didn't care to translate. It opened easily, revealing a lab of sorts with weird bubbling stuff, bits of wire and metal thrown across the room, with loose wires and big buttons everywhere. All of it looked beyond my expertise, so I slowly closed the door.

I mostly found bedrooms; some doors I opened led into a vast white space, blank and dull. I found a ton of stuff including an art gallery, an astronomy tower, a telescope, a study, a garden, a med bay, a movie theatre, three storage rooms filled to the brim with junk, a giant lava lamp room, and some other console rooms, which were dark and under lit. Lastly, I found a room with a planet inside it. The planet had red grass and skies; there were two suns and between two mountains stood a mighty empire, in a glass bubble, shiny new and powerful. The leaves where a stunning silver and I reached out to touch one.

The image flickered then turns to a little boy walking through the night with a few men in weird attire. They led him through the woods, to a beautiful door-like thing -it was round and looked like it had a portal in it. The boy glanced in and shook at its power. He ran away into the night, away from that thing. The image shattered to show the man age. He married a woman, and had children, then grandchildren. One stood out- a dark haired girl he called "Susan".

It flickered to show the boy, now an old man, standing there. He changed to a short fellow who played a recorder, then a tall man with curly hair. He changed too fast to comprehend, ending with the man that I had lived with for about a year now, grinning madly. But as he flickered, he turned sad, and the whole room seemed to whisper:Martha, Donna, Jack, and Rose. It repeated getting louder and louder until I couldn't take it and I stumbled out of the room.

My ears rang with the sudden silence. I slowly got to my feet and walked away. Suddenly, I blinked, confused, and I forgot why i had come down this hall. I wandered down into the console room to see the Doctor, perky as ever, running about flicking switches and pulling leavers. He grinned and looked at me. "Izzy! I wondered where you went! I am taking you out!" he said, running about.

The TARDIS came to a halt as he grabbed a basket and pulled me out the doors. We hadn't gone to many places, but I had seen Barcelona filled with dogs with no noses; I had been to the planet of the roller coasters- tons of fun by the way; and I had gone to some beaches, some on earth and some not on earth. But this was lovely! It was a grassy hillside with purple grass and green flowers, and there was a pink tree that was growing rubies, sapphires, and diamonds. I turned to see the Doctor, who had set up a picnic blanket and was taking out the food.

After dining and having a small food fight, the Doctor and I watched the blue sun set and the gold moon rise. Soon, the Doctor pulled something from his pocket. He told me to close my eyes. I did, and immediately felt a cold metal pressed against my wrist, "Open your eyes, Izzy." I obliged and gasped; on my wrist was a charm bracelet, and attached to it was many charms that only I would understand. There was a quarter moon with a star hanging off it, a rollercoaster, a beat up looking doll, a dog, a sonic screwdriver, a mini TARDIS, my name written in English on the front and what the Doctor told me was his native language on the back. It was perfect. I hugged him and grinned.

"What's this for?"

He gave me a dissapointed glance, "It's for the one year anniversery of meeting you, and well...your birthday."

"My birthday?" I say quietly. Then we dive into what a birthday was

and I laughed becuase it had been a good day.
